1. Am I correct in remembering a similar 'accident' in 04, when one
of the networks 'inadvertantly' ran test results on an open feed announcing a winner 2 hours after the polls opened?

just a bizarre coincidence - couldn't happen twice...

2. This seems to be stupidity by the WaPo & AP rather than "voter supression"
Jim Brady, executive editor of WashingtonPost.com, said that the text glitch resulted when a WashingtonPost.com staffer, who works on the feeds, opened them up is live environment to run a test.

But that coincided with the AP running their own test feed at the same time. Because the Post’s environment was open, and the AP ran a live feed that moment, the paper’s text subscribers received those messages.

Running tests live is never a good idea. You're asking for trouble.

As bad as the news media can be, nobody would ever purposely publish a statistically impossible, 100% sweep.
