Huckabee won the WV caucus!

Huckabee Wins All 18 W.Va. Delegates

CHARLESTON, W.Va. (AP) — Mike Huckabee won the first contest declared on Super Tuesday, picking up all 18 national delegates awarded at West Virginia's state GOP convention.

Huckabee bested Mitt Romney, who entered the Mountain State event with the largest bloc of pledged convention-goers. Both men and Ron Paul made in-person appeals to the more than 1,100 convention delegates attending Tuesday's convention.

4. mcCain rigged it
so his supporters would go to Huckabee and trump Romney.

Kinda shady, but perfectly legal.

6. I live in West Virginia, and I ran into a Republican on the bus today
who was furious because he didn't get to cast a vote. Apparently the state GOP either didn't hold elections for the caucus delegates, or if they did, they didn't advertise them very well. I admit that I don't know much about how the Republican party works around here--I haven't met many of them, and the ones I *have* met all seem confused about how it's supposed to work.

But the one I met today was highly pissed, and considering switching to Dem because he felt like he'd been railroaded and ignored by the state party leaders. If it's true that West Virginia Republicans let caucus delegates vote without holding any kind of election for the delegates, then I can't say I blame the man for being angry. That's highly messed up.

9. Ironically, a similar situation in Arizona cemented my move to the Democratic Party
I was young and stupid, and a Registered Republican. In 1988, rank and file Republicans in Arizona had no say in the delegate selection - it was done by a convention limited to precinct chairmen. I switched to vote for a professor in the Democratic primary (running as a Dukakis delegate), haven't voted Republican since.

11. The media is running this win all day
And Romney will be screwed. How they got a state out there before they all normally close I don't know.

But there is something crooked going on here and if I was Romney, I'd be so pissed off right now with this crap.
