Electronic or Paper Ballots?

I voted today in Southern California and was given the option of using either electronic or paper ballots.

Is having this option something that is common throughout the US or is it unique to California?

In any case, I went with the paper ballot.

The paper ballot, incidentally, listed the whole slate of original candidates, including those who had already dropped out. Does anyone know if that was also the case on the electronic version?

2. Paper - good choice

Unless they shred that paper, which is in violation of the law, there is a hard document recording your vote.
Electronic bytes can be changed or tampered with much more easily.

They used to occasionally find huge piles of uncounted ballots dumped into canyons down in Mexico.
