Dean speech on C-Span...
was that Ken Burns that asked that last question about Nader? I still love to hear Dean speak and answer questions. Same with Wes Clark, Kucinich and Sharpton. Throughout the primary season, I always hated the way Kerry and Edwards spoke and answered questions. But I always loved to hear the other candidates. How was it that the two that bugged me the most and seemed the most ingenuine ended up being the front runners? Does the rest of America like to hear phony bs? I guess any time I get a chance to hear the other candidates who have fallen by the wayside, I get a little frustrated by the whole primary process and I feel short changed. That's all. Feel free to comment.

2. Well, I feel the same as you.
The insiders really do speak a slightly different language. I'm obviously a Dean supporter and I'm biased, but I loved to hear him talk...you really got the sense he believed what he said.

3. I think the reason he believed what he said...
was because he really did his homework.

4. I agree. I also think that he put the principle first, and THEN the
politics. You can tell when people are doing that because they have a passion about what they're advocating.

Yes, and you can tell they're doing that because then they get crucified, demeaned or ignored by the media.

8. Well yes, there's that...
;)

I thought that we might be ready this time. Things looked promising early on. Oh well, another fote against the incumbent instead of a vote for change...

...it seem that THIS is why I've never been really involved in politics before. I've voted, but never been involved. This was the first time for me. Well, 12 years 'till I retire. I only have to get through 3 more Presidents...then I'm off to Costa Rica.

7. Does anyone know where I might find this video
or the transcript of the interview? I looked on CSPAN's website, didn't see anything...I'd really like to see this, though. I feel like I missed out.

10. It should be on the CSPAN web site tomorrow
Generally it's an 8-hour gap between the version on TV getting web-streamable on the CSPAN site.

9. Well said Kerry was my last choice I just don't get it
I think Rove will destroy him. I am a diehard Demacrat but I just can't get exited about Kerry. I swear I have never heard him answer a question with a yes or no, I have no idea where he stands on anything.

11. A lot of times, a simple yes or no is not sufficient
Edited on Sun Mar-07-04 01:05 AM by zulchzulu
I've seen Kerry speak on issues many times and he indeed gets it. I'd rather get a lot of information and nuance than a simple yes or no on issues.

Leave people like Chimpy to stick to simple answers to complicated questions. As for Rove "destroying" Kerry, he is going to be negative as hell. And he's going to be punched back hard.

There also was a reason why Rove wanted Dean as the candidate to run against. To think that Dean would not be an easy candidate for Rove to destoy is not being honest. He's out of the race so it's not an issue.

14. I think yes or no would be sufficient for most things
Such as the IWR, he either voted for it or against it there was no third choice, so why spend ten minutes telling us why he voted for it but was really against it.

18. I was riveted
and thought how did we pass over such a good guy. I too miss the chorus of the other voices that so resonated with me. Although I was a Clark supporter, I always loved to hear Dean speak. The party needed his outspoken challenge to wake up and gosh do I miss him and Clark.
