Will Hillary win California, like she won Missouri????
The media needs to just STOP.

In their undying quest to be FIRST to announce breaking news, the media has declared
Hillary Clinton the winner of California, too early. Most of the votes that have
been counted are absentee votes. These votes would surely give Hillary the advantage.

The media just needs to simmer down, let the results come in and quit trying to project
a winner 5 seconds after the polls have closed.

You would think that they would be a bit more cautious after calling Missouri for
Clinton, and now Obama is ahead.

This is ridiculous!

We just have to let it play out.

2. Well, to be fair ABC/AP/MSNBC never called Missouri.
So they must have some reason for making the projection in CA.

24. I feel that I may be becoming a Hillbot with all this 'Hope' in the air
but that is the best fucking smilie I have ever seen, and since I have spent much of the last year reacting similarly to the stupidest of the Hillbots, I don't feel too bad about stealing it. Thanks.

20. I couldn't agree more
The nets are basing their projections on the exit poll data. Well, the exit polls were completely wrong in New Jersey, Massachusets, and Arizona. Also, Alameda county was open until 9 pst because of a court's order. Alameda county includes Oakland, which is likely to be heavily pro-Obama. I'm not convinced that the race is over in Cal. One last point. The early vote lead for Hillary is due in large part to the mail in votes. I bet there is a surge for Obama as the night moves on.

21. they did call MO for Clinton
Edited on Wed Feb-06-08 01:01 AM by mbergen
"Obama had 48.9 percent of the vote to Clinton's 48.3 percent, with 98 percent of Missouri's precincts reporting. The Associated Press initially declared the New York senator the winner based on a review of vote results, exit polling and an analysis of outstanding precincts, but withdrew that declaration as Obama gained and then narrowly surpassed Clinton."

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20080206/ap_on_el_pr/campaign_missouri

It could be that they just didn't understand what counties were still remaining because they don't live here - that some of the largest counties that were going for Obama weren't in yet.

I was at a results watching party for MO earlier tonight with similar percentages to California and it turned around several hours later - don't have any idea if such a thing could happen in California or not if they have a similar makeup of some large counties that are usually slow to report as Missouri does.

Don't see it happen, but it'd be marvelous, just for the media to be so very wrong YET AGAIN.
