It seems that nationwide Edwards supporters largely broke for Obama. This is a great thing. I'm sorry for the many that didn't get to vote for the candidate of their dreams. I only hope Obama can live up to the mantle of being the last people's candidate in the race.
I want to congratulate Clinton and staunch supporters. She has some of the most tenacious supporters I've ever seen, especially here on DU.
If Obama had won California tonight, I think it would be all over for Clinton.
Both sides live to fight another day and I think from this point its up in the air. Obama has always been the long shot and the underdog here when it comes to the institutional support and built-in constituencies that Clinton possesses. However, at this point I think it's anyone's ballgame.
I just hope it is decided well before we have to take another look at Michigan and Florida because that will cause a huge rift in the party. If Obama is forced to challenge those states he will look very bad. If Clinton is forced to rewrite the rules to pull it off, it's not going to feel like a legitimate win.
Anyway, congrats everyone (except for the people who are gloating)! Obama is inspiring and Clinton has great poise.
