36. Nominate Hillary and watch the Repubs close ranks....
(1) They WILL consolidation behind ANY repub nom
(2) Unlimited donations arrive
(3) The efforts to defeat her (successful) will resemble a true national war effort (i.e. WW1, WW2)

The naive demos will respond: 'Wow!'

Do you think the above will happen? Do you think the Repub mobilization to defeat Clinton will resemble the above descibed scenario?

17. Immigration? Really?
Who was it that marched with the Mexican immigrants in the big Mayday 2006 rallies? Only two people who are Senators marched with them. One of them was Kennedy and the other was Obama. Who is against immigrant driver's licenses and who's for it?

The defense industry sponsored war democrat so-called liberal Hillary Clinton....yay!

:puke:

31. Immigration is NOT a left-right litmus test.
Labor lefties favor stricter immigration enforcement to protect labor's bargaining power.

Multiculturalist liberals favor open borders because, well, I don't know why, but somehow they've decided that allowing people to come into the country unchecked is a good thing.

Anyway, I don't think there is such a thing as a "correct" liberal position on immigration. YOur view on the matter all depends on which constituency you belong to.

47. Read this LTTE
http://www.sacbee.com/326/story/687197.html

Re "What the Dems said about key issues for California," Feb. 1: Our leading Democratic Party candidates disagree on giving driver's licenses to undocumented aliens, with Sen. Barack Obama in favor and Sen. Hillary Clinton opposed (after some confusion about her position).

Let's compare two immigrants – Manuel and Julio. Manuel works on a cattle ranch during the winter. As part of his wages, his boss gives him an old pickup truck. He'll need wheels to follow the fruit and vegetable harvest up the West Coast. Manuel drives to San Diego, re-licenses the pickup and gets a driver's license.

Now, what do we know about him? (1) His truck has been inspected and found street worthy. (2) He has studied and passed the written driver test. (3) He passed the behind-the-wheel driver test. (4) He has been photographed and fingerprinted (maybe even left a DNA sample). (5) He has shown proof of insurance.

Julio, on the other hand, has an old junker he has nursed into running, bearing a license lifted off another vehicle. He hasn't even read the Spanish language version of the driver's manual and is unaware of the safety and environmental demands on vehicles driven in California.

In event of an accident, we can't identify him or trace his background; we only know that he has no insurance.

Which of these men would you rather have driving beside you on the freeway?

51. I believe
Edited on Wed Feb-06-08 03:31 PM by Popol Vuh
that NO human being is "illegal" first off. Secondly, I believe that anyone of indigenous blood are further from being a so-called illegal on this continent than the descendants of those who illegally immigrated to this continent from Europe disregarding all the laws and land rights of those who have been here for since long before Christ walked the earth. Thirdly, I believe that in order for someone to complain about someone else disrespecting their laws, that person should first make sure that all the treaties they have signed with them are not being violated by themselves.

Now, I digress, you believe it is a GOOD thing to have unlicensed drivers? Because if you think that you're going to eliminate what you refer to as illegals, you're living in la la land because our country will NEVER stop imposing ourselves economically on other people displacing them from being able to continue making a living unless they migrate to where all the wealth is being transfered to.

You should take a lesson from this native story and stop acting the way Brokenlance was at the beginning: http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-5453416191482144722&hl=en

30. Saying she's not liberal isn't slander.
She's not a liberal, and neither is Obama. As far as I've been able to tell, Hillary is INCREMENTALLY to the left of Obama. Not enought to add up to anything.

Both of them are corporate-friendly moderates.

Both of them are head-and-shoulders abouve McCain who is a far-right nutjob.

And what is it with these freeps bitching about open borders? The GOP has always favored bringing in tons of illegals to creat a huge cheap labor pool.

It didn't bother them when Reagan did it...

FOLKS....
It’s a PROPOGANDA WAR, and we lost it long ago.

The media has succsessfully turned the word “Conservative” into hate-word, along with “Christian”.

They have pigeon-holed anyone supporting a “Conservative” agenda as a Bible-thumping hick living in a trailer, driving a pickup with a Confederate flog on it, while looking for blacks to run down on the way to the NASCAR race...

Of ALL of the nominees this year, JUST ONE, Mitt Romney, has/had the ability to delivera message in a way that the MSM could actually filter through to the Sheeple, but own own “Identity Politics” is killing him...

In a large part, WE created this mess....

12. Let me fix some misspellings on the freeper page...
From the freeper page:

From here on out, we can likely expect a dramatic shift to the left. Either of these Democratic candidates will significantly raise our taxes, fling open the doors to our borders, enact economically crippling environmental policy, stack the Supreme Court with leftists, attempt to impose socialized medicine, and force a humiliating and ignominious withdrawal from Iraq. In the view of many conservatives, Senator McCain would only be slightly better on many of these issues, save the War.

No matter how you cut the cake, 2008 is shaping up to be a big Democratic year.

Whether anything can be done to mitigate this impending disaster remains to be seen, life has a way of changing the calculus suddenly and unpredictably, but at this stage, prudence demands that we prepare those tax shelters and buy an extra rifle while we still can.

Translation, one line at a time:

From here on out, we can likely expect a dramatic shift to the left.

Editor: Yay. *cheers, screaming, deafening applause for a good 2 hours*

Either of these Democratic candidates will stop welfare the ultra-rich, solve the immigration nightmare that repubes couldn't, save the Earth by addressing climate change (finally), protect the Constitution by appointing Supreme Court Justices that actually think without using knee-jerk decision-making, finally address the one thing that separates us from the civilized world... health care, and leave Iraq to the Iraqis, who will do just fine on their own.

No matter how you cut the cake, DEMOCRATS RULE!

Obviously the Dems are set to win hugely in 2008... Senate, House, Presidency, and the hearts and minds of Americans. Meanwhile, hardcore freepers will continue to shoot themselves in the foot and lose money by throwing good after bad.

Thank you, and good night.

On some other thread, somebody was saying that McCain was our only chance to get the "youth vote." I was like, "Yeah, nothing gets the young people more excited than some pasty geriatric Senator with no charisma."

Your daughter is obviously a very intelligent and discerning person.

I honestly don’t know what McCain is smoking. Or what he is thinking. He’s not going to win without the conservative base, and the conservative base hates his guts.

This is a nightmare worse than the second Clinton victory.

Bob Dole’s still fit and ready to run if we want him.

But I think you're right, and the Freepers are going to rewrite their values and memories in a way that would make make Orwell's Big Brother go, "Nah, you're shittin' me!"
