Any good analysis of the voting trends thus far - Dem vs dark side turnout?

I've seen lots of analysis of who is getting delegates, the various racial or gender breakdowns, etc. But, is there an overall picture emerging thus far in the primaries held to date - is there a Democratic vs GOP turnout trend that can be mapped back to previous elections, that may indicate a dynamic that could overcome the specific candidates once selected?

My feeling is that there is much more excitement in the Dem camps - that though there is the usual bickering between the two camps, we are by and large much more happy with either of our two choices than the right is with any of their three. My question is, will this likely play out in the election in a tsunami of Dem voters...which could sweep us to a big time victory, no matter who runs?
