The really good news for all Democrats today is this!

There is so much to feel happy about today. Help me count!

1. Republican voters repudiated Romney, Giuliani, and Fred Thompson.
2. The only two Republican candidates left in the race are McCain, who is actually kind of-sort of reasonable (for a Republican) and Huckabee, who is a complete nut-hatch with no chance of winning the presidency.
3. The vile hateful talk radio hosts were *faced* yesterday. So was the Bush White House. So was Faux News.

As Democrats, we have two good candidates from which to choose -

1. An African American man who appeals to the young as well as many voters who haven't voted Democratic in recent years.
2. A woman with tremendous expertise and experience.

Two decades ago, could anyone have imagined that the Democrats would be choosing between a woman and an African American? We've come a long way. I know that I gripe that we haven't come far enough, but today I'm celebrating for these steps forward.

I will support whomever wins the Democratic nomination for president.

3. can you imagine if McCain asks Huckabee to be his VP

just to get the evangelical voters, McCain is just that evil to do that to.

But I wouldn't bet on that. Huckabee has been sucking up for the VP job but McCain may backhand him?

6. I am very worried about that, because it's clear that Huckabee is angling.

Huckabee is helping defeat Romney - it's obvious that he hopes for a VP slot.

Huckabee as president would be so bad it might actually cause a cataclysmic explosion that would clear up all this right-wing nonsense for a while. Give people what they claim they want and see how they really like it. However, the Republican machine doesn't want Huckabee in there. I think that Huckabee actually believes what he says - he's a real Christian who can't be trusted to sell his soul to the corporations. Sure, he'd try to rewrite the Constitution along Old Testament lines, but that would include giving to the poor and other highly inconvenient ideas.

The corporatist Republican Party wanted Romney and they're freaking today.

at least 30-40 million dollars of his own money to run, I just heard that on Thom Hartmann.

4. It might be Huckabee. The next puppet.

He fits the mold of a leader who can be manipulated.

7. I'm not sure that he can be manipulated beyond his already-crazed mold.

Huckabee is a real Dominionist, I think. He wants the U.S. reinvented to match his ideas about what the Old Testament says. That's not in line with what the corporatists want at all. They've used pseudo-christians like Bush to get the Christian right to vote, but they've always put fake Christians in the White House - people who really put the corporations first, like the two Bushes.

The Republican Party can't control Huckabee. He's part of what they created over the past two decades, and now it's taken on a life of its own.

I live in Texas and will actually have a meaningful vote coming up. I'm undecided. I like both. I'm leaning one way, but not sure.

I will be reading positions and listening to upcoming debates.

What a great choice.
