!!! VOTE FOR KERRY IN NOV !!!

otherwise YOU'LL get blamed for Kerry losing in November. You know they won't figure out the real reason he lost, but that's neither here nor there anymore, because Kerry is our nominee.

Maybe things will get crazy before August or even at the convention and someone else will be nominated, and whomever wins because of it, we must vote for them also. But, the chances of that happening are pretty slim.

Thus in order not to be the scapegoat for all those who proudly scream now that Kerry is electable, we must all get together and vote for Kerry.

But, I am not going to berate you if you feel in your conscience that you cannot vote for Kerry. That type of harrassment won't win any votes for Kerry. You have to be allowed to think for yourself and not let anyone else do your thinking for you - including me. I have confidence that you will do the right thing in November.

Thank you for your time,

Dave (AmyStrange.com) Ayotte

6. Who they vote for is none of my business.
I just don't like the anti-Democratic wing of the Democratic party plastering propaganda against our Democratic (presumptive) nominee. Sorry, but it smells of political treason.

28. Ah, but who decides what is propaganda and what is real cause for concern?
A true problem we all face, and one I fear will not be resolved anytime soon.

The lifelong application of government propaganda has deteriorated America's collective ability to think for itself. I'm not saying I know all the answers - I'm certain that I don't - but I am not willing to turn over the defining of reality to people so desperate to beat b*sh (hey, I share that feeling!) that they ignore even their own past judgments in return for political expediency - no matter how loud and abusive they may become.

(I'm not including you, though I do confess your use of the term 'political treason' makes me uncomfortable.)

9. What, exactly, do you hope to accomplish with these threads?
Any candidate suddenly surging and becoming more powerful than Kerry against Bush in November is about as probable as a monkey at a typerwriter pounding out a complete Shakespeare play by accident. Theoretically possible, but it's not going to happen.

Your 'conscience' aside, you have a choice - make your vote count or don't.

14. Yes I did...

and I've been trying to send you something about that, but my computer froze up on me. I'm still working the bugs out of it.

I understand about Graham. I personally believe Kerry can't win without atleast Edwards on the ticket. I don't like those numbers because of the IWR, but getting the cabal out is priority one unfortunately,

21. To continue your thought...
((((HUGz)))) to all the Kerry Supporters out there. And ((((HUGz))))to everyone else who are left of Bush

Or at least to those who don't describe members who have yet to pledge their eternal fealty to Kerry as "the anti-Democratic wing of the Democratic Party" who are committing "political treason."

To people who use rhetoric like that, my only sentiments are :puke: .

...even if Kerry should lose (God forbid!) by a couple of million votes, and it can be proven that only one of us either voted for Nader or stayed home, we'll still be blamed.

27. That's the problem with "vote Kerry or else!" threads...
It's a secret ballot. Hence, it's no one's business how/if someone votes.

I freely state that I will vote against b*sh, and I don't support a third-party candidate, nor is that likely to change.

However, it is really not anyone's business what people do in the voting booth. The vote is secret for a reason, and no one has to tell anyone how they will vote.

That may not be popular with the ABB crowd here at DU, but that's the way the cookie crumbles. I mention this because threads demanding to know how people will vote are antithetical to the democratic process. More to the point, they're a waste of time that proves nothing. Any poster could say "Kerry all the way!" and it really means nothing. They could write in Orville Redenbacher and no one would ever know.

Sadly, I fear there will be many "you really voted for b*sh/Nader/Orville, didn't you???" posts after the election. People will use this imagined slight - imagined, as it is impossible to know - as a weapon against their favorite targets.
