It is now obvious more than ever that we need a Hillary/Obama
ticket, or a Obama/Hillary ticket. The stakes are too high for anything less.

1. No.
He would take every opportunity to stab her in the back. And if he were at the top of the ticket, he'd simply use her as a toe rag.

And I don't ever want to see a Cheney power Veep again.

2. I like a Clinton/Obama ticket. But I think an Obama/Clinton ticket is both unlikely and unwise. n/t

3. My opinion? A max-out loser.
Combine these:

-Those who will NEVER vote for Hillary
-Those who won't vote for a person of Color
-Those who won't vote for ANY Democrat
-Those Democrats who won't vote for that ticket because one or the other had "sold out" to the other one....

We'll be lucky to poll the bluest states from the last election. Better to take our chances on the one who gets it with their own choice for veep.

4. one problem with a Hillary/Obama ticket: they both need someone with military experience or Southern
on the ticket as VP, a Jim Webb or Wes Clark to give them some regional and cross-over mojo.

Ironically, I don't think they need a military person to capture actual military votes. Those people are fed up with the GOP oil empire project. Instead, you need them to draw in the armchair generals who love the military the way they love football: from the safety of their barcolounger.

11. Why do Democrats always feel the need to pander to repugs?
You'll never see repugs saying "we need a liberal VP from the Northeast to bring in the votes of educated Americans". Nope, they all try to out Neo-con one another.

"In a race between a Republican and a Democrat who acts like one, the Republican will win every time. "
-Will Rogers

If we don't stand by our platform with our candidates, it won't look like a platform that's worth voting for.

5. If Clinton IS the nominee
you guys better PRAY he is on the ticket or we'll all be watching John McCain with his hand on The Bible next January taking his oath of office. She NEEDS Barack he does NOT need her...

6. I agree
Unfortunately, I don't think it will happen because I don't think that either of them would be willing settle for the #2 slot (see "My Fellow Americans" ;)) but it would certainly be a good thing in terms of helping bring the party together and such a diverse ticket would be even more unprecedented than having either of them alone as the nominee.

7. Good idea.

Settle it by a coin toss so no feathers are ruffled.

Stick a fork in the RWers for the last time in the process.

8. Two senators is not a good idea
Edited on Wed Feb-06-08 11:57 AM by Zensea
Historically senators don't fare that well in elections.
Either one of them needs to pick a governor.
I'm betting it's going to be either Richardson or Sibelius.

10. I'd prefer a Gore/ Kucinich ticket
but with the DLC in charge, that'll never happen. :-(
