Gore is wildly popular & respected on DU, WHY doesn't HE like HRC?
We love Al for his intelligence, his ethics, his wisdom and his passion. Why doesn't he "appreciate" HRC, the way that so many on this forum seem to? AND Why does HRC not like AL????? We see his worth, we see his value, we wish he were the one running....oops, maybe that is it!

Who cares who is best qualified? Personal ambition to be in the WH means more to the Clintons and always has.

Where were HRC & Bill in 2000? Where were HRC & Bill in 2004? Elections stolen and I guess they were counting down the days before they could move back in. Why support the Democratic Presidential Candidates that were having elections stolen from them????? If, say, Kerry succeeded and moved in, then, where would that have left HRC's plans to be in the WH????? Fat chance at 73 or so.

The worst thing is that HRC & Bill are proving that the Repukes had a lot of valid points against them. The next worst thing is that Bill is in the process of undermining the respect and credibility from his own Presidency and beginning to be an embarrassment to the Democratic Party. The last, but not the least worst thing is that they will sell our country (and us by the way) down the road for power and have shown it too many times to be respected.

I can't wait to see who Al endorses. It should be fascinating. I'm betting that the most HRC will get as far as an endorsement from Al will be his silence in not supporting anybody and if he does do that I will be disappointed in him.

29. Gee - why wouldn't Gore or Kerry be happy that TeamClinton backstabbed them
throughout their campaigns?

They should be grateful for the lessons in deceit they were given:

23. ok, here's my thinking
I'm a Hillary supporter. Gore is well-respected among the audience here. Therefore, if I say that Gore hates Obama, it will be good for Hillary.

It's like I'm making a negative endorsement of Obama on Gore's behalf.

12. that's absurd
And the topic is: why doesn't Al Gore like Hillary? For the same reason most good Democrats don't care for her. She's loyal to herself first and has not had a progressive record.

I admire the Hell out of Al Gore, and people that I admire and respect -usually- have the same type of ideas and values that I have. Al's silence on supporting HRC is speaking very loudly to me.

3. Er, what?
Al Gore made a political decision in 2000 to keep Clinton at a distance, it was not the Clinton's decision. The thinking at the time was that Bill was "damaged goods" from Lewinskygate, and to be seen shoulder-to-shoulder with him on the trail would just be fodder for the Republicans.

for 2002 and 2004. And, in fact, the RNC increased their use of tactics to disallow, purge, suppress and steal Dem votes while McAuliffe sat on his hands for four years after 2000 and LET IT HAPPEN.

Incompetence or DELIBERATE?

4. People here forget how pissed they were when Bill defended Bush during his 3week booktour in 2004.
Edited on Wed Feb-06-08 12:13 PM by blm
Instead of the country getting familiar with Kerry's attacks on Bush for his terrorism and Iraq war decisions they were hearing Bill Clinton's HIGH PROFILE DEFENSE of Bush on those decisions for three solid weeks in the summer of 2004.

Like Bill was naive and didn't realize what he was doing.

Even in Bill's book he forgot to mention that the entire time he was in DC, the lawmaker who had the best record tracking terror networks and their funding was John Kerry. Didn't mention it in his book and didn't mention it in ONE interview about the terror issue.

9. Um, Al Gore ran a shitty campaign..I like him now that he's no longer
a politician, but when he ws, he was as bad as all of them. Does anyone honestly think that if he were running for Prez he'd come out in favor of gay marriage? I mean, this is the guy who ran in 1998 for Prez touting himself as the most conservative Dem out there.

more observant and listen to what is happening around you as well as what ISN'T happening around you.

It is such COMMON KNOWLEDGE that I think #1 you are just yanking my chain #2 very young #3 in denial

You do some research and you won't have to look very far to DISPROVE me.

Because he hasn't endorsed anyone? -- if so, wouldn't that translate into "Al doesn't like any of them"

22. As far as where were the Clintons in 2000 and 2004, I recall that
Al Gore tried to distance himself from the Clintons during his Presidential campaign. As far as John Kerry's campaign, Bill underwent heart surgery 9/6/04, but still appeared on stage with John Kerry in November.
