A compromise for the delegates from FL and MI
If Obama or Clinton gets enough pledged delegates to be nominated from elsewhere they will be seated and allowed to vote.
If neither has enough pledged delegates then what will likely occur is a compromise. They will be "seated", but not allowed to vote on the first ballot. They would then be allowed to vote on subsequent ballots should they be necessary. Let's see what happens.

1. If it comes down to it... They shoud hold those primaries over again.
Let them campaign for a week in those states, and redo it. It's only fair. Otherwise, leave it alone.

4. If they could get a "doover" then what would stop other states from breaking the rules again?

2. That won't work.
Once seated they could just vote to have their votes count. If that makes them change the majority voter, then you have issues.

3. No compromise! FL and MI broke the Dem party rules and should have to pay the price
that is why we have rules. What will happen next election if they get a free pass?

5. They did break the rules which is why their vote doesn't go toward the nomination.
But you have to understand that there's nothing in the rules that says they can't be voted to be seated.

7. spoken like a true believer of Democratic values and ideals
screw the voters . . . .

The power-hungry heads of the state party and DLC are willing to disenfrancise members of our party. And because of that, so many on this forum are willing to have the milllions of D voices ignored.

6. The Democratic minority in Florida didn't fight the date change...
even though they knew it broke DNC rules. The Repubs own the state legislature, so they couldn't have stopped it if they tried. But they didn't try. They didn't raise a stink.

I'm sick and tired of this "well, we don't have the votes right off the top, so we're going to give up" shit. They didn't fight, kicking and screaming, at the incredible abuses of the Republican majority.

So suck it. If the Democrats minority had united and voted against the date change, even if the Republican majority had forced it through, I would be in a position to think "Okay, grant some kind of exemption because it's not their fault."

But they rolled over. Just like Schumer and Feinstein did on our new "I know nothing about waterboarding" Attorney General. "Oh, oh, we're going to approve him so Bush doesn't recess-appoint somebody worse!", they said, then Reid keeps the Senate in session enough to prevent recess appointments!

Didn't even try.

I don't know the story in Michigan, so I'll reserve judgement.

8. Don't seat their 'Superdelegates'
and let the vote be reheld.
