Oh...I know why Ted Kennedy can't run as VP, but I would love to see this
in "some ways." I know he has the Chappaquidick stuff and his Kennedy family ghosts to haunt him........but OMG if only Kerry could pick him as VP and be PROUD of IT!

Is Ted Kennedy worse than Dick Cheney at this point? Yeah...as far as the media is concerned.

But, ohhhhh the GRAVITAS and the LIBERAL CREDENTIALS!

I know, it could never happen... but, I would so much like to see it happen. Kerry/Kennedy!

SIGH.............

2. Kennedy supporting Kerry made me give him a second look
I know they are from the same state but he has been campaigning his butt off for him.

3. I've gotten new respect for Kennedy lately. He has spoken right up when..
others were/are too cowardly. He has been willing to take the garbage the pubs deal out to anybody who dares speak against their fearless leader.

Good for Ted! Any Kennedys out there in the wings that should be representing this generation? The Kennedy name still carries clout, but it needs new blood to give it new and invigorated boldness!

7. his son patrick
is a rep from Rhode Island. JFK Jr was once considered a possible run for president before he died. Kathleen, RFK's daughter was LT Governor of Maryland and RFK Jr is a big environmental activist.

9. Also Joe Kennedy
who's mostly into advocacy - his ads for heating rights are ubiquitous in MA. He's also an environmental lawyer, which is cool.

4. I personally would like it but.....
for a better balanced ticket someone from the
South or West would be better. I particularly
like John Edwards....he is a great campaigner.

8. Yes........I know.......when Kennedy was on with Blitzer, he was asked if
he would consider Kerry VP....He laughed and was gracious, and said no, his place was in the Senate.

But, I though.....FGS, we have all the "retreads of Ford, Reagan, Poppy in the White House now! Why couldn't we run on what the "Chimp did" and do "Real Democrats for America" Cabinet. And we could put all our old "real Dems" in the way the "Chimp" did and have a field day returning America to some principles.

But....it was only a fantasy. I realize now that even our "old Dems are responsible for what we are living through now by not fighting hard enough to defend Carter, Clinton, Gore.

So, we suffer with the bed we made which allowed these folks to come in and ruin the country.

But....I still think Teddy would be "sweet." He's no Dick Cheney....but I see why it wouldn't work. I wish it could but it won't. :-(

5. Ted Kennedy is much
more valuable to have in the Senate then a job like V.P. which ordinarily has no power unless you have a know nothing for pResident.

6. Even if those ghosts weren't there
it would mean the electors of Massachusetts would not be able to vote for both of them, which could greatly complicate the electoral picture. MA, remember, is a VERY blue state.

Does anyone know what would happen if Kerry won the electoral POTUS vote and Cheney won the VPOTUS?

WEIRD!

10. I'm guessing
that the ultimate decision would come from the same set of electors, and that whichever side won the Pres., election would vote for the VP nominee.

Although, I believe P and VP are separate elections, so perhaps Cheney could be Kerry's VP! In which case, he would quickl reappoint someone.

It used to work, I believe, that the candidate who got second in Pres elex, would be the VP. If only...

13. The 12th amendment
would be involved, and it forbids electors from any state to vote for POTUS and VPOTUS both from their own state.
