If Obama is the Nominee, There will NOT be a Woman on the Ticket
This is my prediction. The reason for this is that I think it doesnt help Obama to put Hillary on the ticket. And I think It would be perceived as a slap in the face if Obama put somebody like Sebellius on the ticket instead of Hillary. There would be an uproar and the press would act as if Obama snubbed her yet again.

10. I'm not kidding
I think she would be a great AG. Imagine her going after corruption. She'll be amazing.

18. I think she would be horrible.
People who plant questions like she did should never be considered for a position like that (for starters).

22. You may have a point
I was thinking solely of her going after corrupt pubs. So, I relent to my second option - Senate Majority leader...now, come on. You have to admit she's do great in that job. :hi:

8. Hillary would make an excellent Majority Leader of the Senate

Dump Reid.

That would give us a AA President, a woman Speaker, a woman Senate Majority Leader, and... if he names Sebelius... a woman VP.

The President would be a black man and the next three in the presidential succession would be women.

How awesome would THAT be?

Why can't he put another woman on the ticket? There are certainly some good ones out there. Who cares what the press would say? It would be over in a few days, and the positives would be great.

31. Webb, Indeed.
That would be my prediction right now for Obama's running mate.

Webb puts Virginia seriously into play and shores-up Obama on the 'military' front.

Webb as VP makes picking up Virginia's U.S. Senate seat almost a certainty.

On the other hand, who would want to be Clinton(s)'s running mate? Who wants to be the THIRD banana in a Clinton(s) administration?

11. I think he has to go with a man for VP.
With John McCain as the Repuke candidate, my choice of Senator Webb would be excellent.

He was a marine and would counter the McCain's strength as a military man.

12. I think it would depend on the woman. Who would complain if it were
someone like Boxer?

I think it would be wise to go with someone like Sam Nunn (Randi's idea) or Jim Webb or Russ Feingold. Though, I think Edwards should get whatever position he stepped out of the race for. Could be VP.

I don't find the thread to be gender baiting. Candidates always look at the demographics of particular ticket combinations, whether gender, geographic, etc.

17. Obama wouldn't want to be Hillary's VP either.
He'd stay in Ill and become the governor. He doesn't want second billing; I imagine she would find it difficult to find any fitting running mate.

A white male will be on the VP Ticket - pretty much no matter who or what. The only exception would be Richardson.

She's got a smart, no-nonsense way about her that would work very well with Obama. Think Hillary Clinton with an actual resume.

35. How about Latina Congresswoman Lucille Roybal-Allard?

Instead of Obama running with a military man or a hardliner on terrorism, maybe he should go the other way and try to bring out a large number of women, Hispanics, and African Americans? Roybay-Allard represents a congressional district that includes Los Angeles. She supposedly was the first Latina elected to Congress. She voted no on the Iraq War Resolution and has consistenly voted in favor of timelines for bringing the troops home. She's pretty liberal, earning a 95% score from NOW and 100% score from the American Civil Liberties Union. I don't think the Democrats will win red states in the South no matter who they put on the ticket with Obama. But I think they should try to bring out the base as never before. Having a woman and an Hispanic on the ticket may do that.
