CAMPAIGN ETHICS: Would that require that Clinton DISCLOSE BEFORE NOT AFTER
Edited on Wed Feb-06-08 06:27 PM by Sensitivity
she dropped 5m of her personal money into the Super Tuesday adds and Hallmark show

An honest question. Maybe not. I could have benefited her to disclose. Should the public know
where the money is coming from.

24. actually they only have to report $ 200 up
More striking, the report found that nearly half of Obama’s individual contributors in the fourth quarter of 2007 gave donations of $200 or less — amounts so small that the Federal Election Commission doesn’t even demand the givers be named on disclosure reports.

5. Ethics is right. It's not ethical to put the money in and not report it.
She should have reported it the day she did it. That would have been ethical. But they were not concerned with the ethics.

Isn't it unethical to loan a campaign money while telling contributors the campaign is in great shape? Isn't it unethical to hide that information from media and supporters?

Something can be legal and still be unethical. Helping the dictator of Oilbekistan, for example, may be legal, but it's not ethical.

10. and was it equally ethical
for the obama campaign to announce their numbers without providing any details of sources? Based on an estimate? What if it was really 28 million? Or 30? We don't know, they didn't know yet. If the number is off when the actual filing is done in 14 days, which it is almost certain to be by some amount, will you be saying the same thing?

15. The problem with your premise is that donations to Obama are
public record. The last time I googled my name, I turned up a listing of my donations.

17. So.......... your premise is that after running a clean campaign for
12 months, Obama suddenly resorted to dirty money last month?

Don't know? Neither do I. Do I care? Nope. I'll find out when the next required report comes out.

If you want to go on a crusade for ethics, at least try to be even handed about it.
