Bill Clinton bullied Harry Reid who bullied the NV Dem Party to fork over $12,0000.

to fly his high and mighty self to speak at the Lake Tahoe summit forum in August when Al Gore was supposed to be the honored speaker. Bill whined for weeks to the Reid staff in Nevada that he is the former President and should be the main speaker until Reid gave in and ordered the State Party to pay for the trip.

Al Gore pulled out as his terms were that he, as the Nobel winner, speak without them present. We got Billbo for $12,000. and then Billbo showed up in reno and held fundraisers for the party at $10,000. a plate to pay for the NV caucus (no one has seen the money and it has not been reported in the State Party filings even though the news promoted the event) with Hillary 2008 signs and campaigned for her on our dime.

No other Dem candidate or their wife or husband was given $12,000. from the NV Dem Party like that.

It's currently under investigation by the SOS and the FEC.

So Nevada knows what it's like when Bill starts dialing for dollars.

The NEVADA DEM PARTY GAVE BILL CLINTON $12,000. FOR THIS TRIP TO CAMPAIGN FOR HIS WIFE! AND WE DIDN'T KNOW IT UNTIL THIS MONTH WHEN THE FINANCIAL REPORTS WENT TO THE SECRETARY OF STATE!

Bill Clinton stops in Reno to give wife a boost (photos from the event are at the link above, note the Hillary campaign signs, all have been submitted to the SOS and FEC)

August 17, 2007

Taking advantage of a trip to Northern Nevada to commemorate the work his administration did to preserve Lake Tahoe, former President Clinton made his first campaign stop in Reno on Friday to stump for his wife.

In a 30-minute speech before an enthusiastic crowd of more than 2,000, Clinton systematically touted U.S. Sen. Hillary Clinton's strengths and addressed what critics name as her weaknesses.

He praised her military acumen from her time on the Senate Armed Services Committee. He lauded her policies on health care, energy independence and education. And he disputed criticisms that she is too controversial to be elected.

4. The sad part was Al Gore was the preferred guest because of the Nobel & Lake Tahoe
straddles NV/CA.

Bill bullied his way in and now our state party has to explain why they paid for his trip to campaign for his wife afterwards in Reno.

You, my dear, need to deal with reality on this board. I did not read the comments, where some of this trash you refer to might have been aired, as comments do not a link make. You should remove this post, posthaste. This is a Democratic Board, you know? You aren't allowed to slander a former democratic President without being called on it.

Is she under the table? No, not there. How about behind the door? No, not there. Well, then, how about in the bathroom? Bingo. There she is, leaning over the commode, eating her slanderous words.

15. Bill didn't have to "bully Reid" too hard. His son is one of Hillary's campaign managers.
Harry is incredibly good at acting so clueless when he is just a devious DINO OP.

26. I was there and I am no longer worried about speaking out because this issue has been reported
to the FEC and the SOS for investigation and it will be discussed at an upcoming party meeting. The State Party chair is under huge scrutiny for this expense as well as others like tons of checks written to the Markham Group in Little Rock, Arkansas:

27. Assuming all these facts to be true... SO WHAT?
Bill Clinton was charging for speaking engagements. He naturally wanted such gigs whenever possible.

So he tried to wangle an invitation from Reid. He "bullied" Reid? What does that mean? He threatened to give Reid a wedgie if he weren't invited? Reid's a big boy. He could've said no. I see no facts showing any impropriety in Clinton's approach to Reid.

While he was in the area, he took the opportunity to campaign for his wife. As long as the state party got what it paid for -- a Clinton keynote speech and/or appearance at a fundraiser that would help pay for caucuses -- I don't see that the state party has any legitimate objection based on what else he did on the trip. If he had dropped by a casino and hit a slot jackpot, would you claim he owed the state party half his winnings?

If the party wanted an assurance that he wouldn't do anything that directly advanced his wife's candidacy -- a demand that would seem unreasonable to me -- it should have negotiated that in advance.

28. What's your source? Is this your theory, or do you have a link?
In the links you provided, I found nothing to support any of this:

"Bill Clinton bullied Harry Reid who bullied the NV Dem Party to fork over $12,0000 to fly his high and mighty self to speak at the Lake Tahoe summit forum in August when Al Gore was supposed to be the honored speaker. Bill whined for weeks to the Reid staff in Nevada that he is the former President and should be the main speaker until Reid gave in and ordered the State Party to pay for the trip.

"No other Dem candidate or their wife or husband was given $12,000. from the NV Dem Party like that."
