Drink this Koolaid - Hillary voted NO to ban cluster bombs in civilian areas

Special Report:
Clinton vs. Obama on the Cluster Bomb Vote
(updated below - includes full text of Senate Amendment No. 4882)

" the single greatest risk civilians face with regard to a current weapon that is in use." -Marc Garlasco, senior military analyst at Human Rights Watch

David Rees, the man behind the hilarious and trenchant Get Your War On, reminded me yesterday of another especially egregious - yet much less known - vote cast by Senator Hillary Clinton, which no one in the mainstream media is talking about:

But in the autumn of 2006, there was a chance to take a step in the right direction: Senate Amendment No. 4882, an amendment to a Pentagon appropriations bill that would have banned the use of cluster bombs in civilian areas.

Senator Obama of Illinois voted IN FAVOR of the ban.

Senator Clinton of New York voted AGAINST the ban.

Analysts say Clinton did not want to risk appearing "soft on terror," as it would have harmed her electibility....

4. Because that is what Hillary is serving up to you all......
and you don't even recognize the taste.

When a women running mostly on her husband's record while talking about less than a year working for the Children's Fund as thought she did it for 10 years of the 35 she continues to touts, and who voted for war and has yet to call it a mistake; who voted for some stupid Iran Resolution at the worst time; accepts more pac and lobbyist money than any other candidate, loves to saber rattle at APAIC, and who's hubby is knee deep in some shady status quo type of "qui pro quo"--

That has got to be a giant pitcher! So I got you one. You are swallowing it whole.

period.

Here, have some more!

3 threads about the same thing in less than 10 minutes. Granted I'm not big on either of the Clintons but surely DU can do better than just parroting whatever freakazoid of the moment is spewed elsewhere.

Are you asking the same question to the Hillary people who are bringing up Obama saying he doesn't know how he would've voted on the war?

13. Are cluster bombs no longer being used or stockpiled?
Are people no longer dying from unexploded bomblets on the ground? If she becomes President, will Hillary Clinton continue her policy in favor of cluster bombs?

12. Just another reason to reject the pandering fool Hillary.
I'm not any kind of pacifist but cluster bombs in a civilian area is simple fucking war crimes.

I'm disgusted that there is even a debate in this country about such unnecessary and inhumane tactics (and torture).
