I'm Going To Tell You Something I Bet You Didn't Know
Did you know that Puerto Rico has more delegates than...

Montana
South Dakota
Wyoming
Vermont
Oregon
Kentucky
West Virginia
Mississippi
Rhode Island
Hawaii
Maine
Nebraska
Utah
North Dakota
Oklahoma
New Mexico
Kansas
Idaho
Delaware
Connecticut
Arkansas
Alaska
Alabama
Arizona
Colorado
Louisiana

That's right. Puerto Rico is in the Top-Half of U.S. delegate counting areas. If they were a state, they'd be the 23rd top state for delegates in the primary.

Weird, huh?

3. Well...thanks for that "digging," Magic. I think this election is going to reveal
even more than voting machine crap...when it all comes out about "Super Delegates" and proportional voting and how caucuses are run...and how many states have "quirky" voting regulations.

Let all the ROT COME OUT! We got of the "smoke filled rooms" picking our candidates and devised an incredible new system that is almost as opaque as the old one.

Our Dem Party needs lots of work....more than we imagined.

4. it never became an issue before
because everyone thought Iowa and New Hampshire would decide the winner.

and honestly, if Obama had won New Hampshire, that might have been the case.

5. Yes...it's coming out now because this is an unusual primary.
But, it still needs to be fixed. Thanks for your post.

7. Guess what else?!?! Sources say the Puerto Rico contest this year for the Dems is WINNER TAKE ALL!
Edited on Wed Feb-06-08 09:32 PM by smalll
Seriously, David Brooks said it on Macneil/Lehrer tonight. It's our ONLY winner-take-all contest, and I think it's our last contest too. Puerto Rico: voters with strong family ties to New York, many who have spent considerable amounts of time in the Big Apple. Latino, of course. And not exactly overflowing with upper-income Latte Liberals: (Puerto Rico ain't Connecticut, put it that way.)

And it's WINNER.:party:TAKE.:bounce:ALL.:woohoo:

Stick that in your iPods and smoke it, Obamatrons!

8. Kick - if this news sinks down to "Page 2: Where Threads Go To Die" too fast...
I'll be sorely tempted to make a thread of my own.
GOMAMA!
