Can Obama win Pennsylvania in a general election?
Edited on Wed Feb-06-08 09:34 PM by Proud2BAmurkin
There's eastern Pennsylvania, always good for Democrats.

Then.......there's western Pennsylvania.

George HW Bush won it. Clinton and Gore won it. Kerry won by two points.

We need it.

2. No and he won't win Michigan either
He won't win Michigan after the Republicans attack him for not wanting their voices to be heard in the primaries. You thought shiftboat was bad? Yikes! What a political blunder.

But hey South Carolina went for him in the primary!

11. I have this crazy, naive optimism
that some people can change their behavior when it's repeatedly pointed out what assholes they're being.

If P2BA was serious about supporting Senator Clinton, he'd have toned it down long ago.

37. No need to be ashamed - every campaign has one
Just like we all have a brother or cousin that completely embarrasses us.

At least in this case, he's not actually related to you and you don't have to keep bailing him out of jail.

10. Well, both my parents are in central PA, near Penn State.
I grew up there. They will both vote Obama in the primary. They voted Bush twice (despite my lectures) and now realize they were wrong. They want someone who will make a difference.

That part of PA slants somewhat libertarian (not conservative Republican) and Obama has a very good chance in central/western PA.

Bush is toast in Centre County, but I don't know if that means the area will go Dem. Even some of the Dems there are conservative.

23. Absolutely....Philadelphia & Allegheny County (Pittsburgh) are solid blue
areas, especially Philly....Walter Mondale won in Philadelphia in 1984, though he lost the state, Philly usually goes about 75-80% for the Democrat..

Here's county by county from PA. in 2004...Also, PA hasn't gone red since 1988...

Philadelphia itself is reliably democratic, but those huge philly suburbs swing back and forth.
