Factcheck: "direct-mail piece sent to voters by the Clinton campaign twists Obama’s words..."
Summary
A direct-mail piece sent to voters by the Clinton campaign twists Obama’s words and gives a false picture of his proposals:

* It says he "wants to raise Social Security taxes by a trillion dollars," a big distortion. Obama has said a “good option” would be to apply Social Security payroll taxes to incomes over $97,500 a year, but that would only affect taxes paid by 6.5 percent of individuals and couples. And he hasn’t formally proposed such a move anyway.

* The Clinton mailer says Obama has "no plan" for a moratorium on foreclosures such as the one Clinton has proposed. That’s true, but Obama has his own plan for homeowner relief. The mailer leaves the impression that Obama has "no plan" at all, which is false.

* It says Obama "voted for Dick Cheney's energy bill that gives huge tax breaks to oil companies," another distortion. By the time Congress passed the 2005 energy bill, it raised taxes on the oil industry more than it decreased them and also contained billions for alternative fuels research and subsidies for energy-efficient buildings and vehicles.

The impression is that she would say anything to get elected. These types of tactics don't help.

5. Oh really now...your opinion isn't reality based.
Exactly on what are you basing these blatherings?

I was a volunteer for the Obama campaign. I was specifically asked
NOT to post or blog about the campaign.

Furthermore, I've never seen a more honest, gracious campaign
in my life.

The day of the caucus, I talked with my field supervisor about
the polls. I was told that our internals were great and that
they were looking at a wonderful evening. I asked specifically
about one of the other opponents. I was told that we would
focus on Obama and how well he would do.

This campaign was focused on the positive, through and through.
That mentality came from the top down.

I met many people who worked for Obama. Before I was an Obama
supporter, I couldn't help but be impressed with their honesty
and integrity. It's one of many reasons I became an Obama
supporter.

I'm talking about firsthand experience with the campaign, and about
specifically being told by the campaign NOT to blog.

What exactly are you talking about?

3. The FACT that her lack of funds has forced Hillary to...
...mail out cheap flyers that everyone will throw in the garbage and not read---says
that Hillary Clinton's "political machine" is now the Kmart of political campaigns.

7. the Clintons are lying about Obama, again
They never tell the truth about him. Hopefully, he will spend some TV money and show what liars they are. They operate under the principle that any lie is OK, if it gives them any short term advantage.
