A little CA primary voting anecdote...humorous (imo)

I raced from work to get to the polls at around 6PM. I brought my 16 year old autistic son with me and of course he was anxiously repeating, home yes, eat yes now as I stood in line to vote. The poll worker asked the 2 folks in front of me do you want a "democrat" or "republican" ballot and that caught my attention. When he got to me, before he could ask I said, "I need a democratIC ballot and his eyes met mine. He says, go see her for a democratIC ballot, she needs a democratIC ballot. It felt good to hear him actually say it. I live in one of the few republican parts of Sonoma county, CA!
