Obama has raised over 1 million dollars in the past three hours!
This is incredible! A few hours ago, we past the 5 million dollar mark for donations since Tuesday, now we are up to $6,244,588!

Amazing!

YES WE CAN!

1. The superdelegates who hold elected office are looking at Obama's fundraising prowess...
and thinking hard about Obama's potential coattails in the upcoming Nov. election.

These donations speak volumns. Not to mention Obama can actually
win some ultra red states, to boot. He is the best candidate to go up
against the republican machine. They were prepared for war on Hillary-
Another reason to vote for Obama- and to donate to his campaign!

19. So.....
if Obama gets the Dem nomination the Reich-wing is not going to attack him tooth and nail? They'll just let him go on his merry way with his "hope" and "change" mantra unchallenged? How naive.

The first three words from the Republican attack machine will be "Barack Hussein Obama" and it will be repeated ad nauseum. And don't forget the "he was schooled in a Madrassa" meme. That one will get HUGE play. It doesn't matter if it's true or not. The 2000 and 2004 elections have shown us that. Perception is reality, and the right-wingers stand alone in the department of forming people's perception.

Obama would get absolutely pulverized in the Presidential election. There's not much they can throw at Clinton that hasn't already been thrown at her and she's weathered it all. Obama? He's a tabula rasa, and the Reich-wing attack machine can't wait for level their sites on him. He's a babe in the woods and the right is salivating about the prospects of taking him on. By election day they'll have him portrayed as an Al Qaeda operative, and it will stick. Mark my words.

Has everyone here forgotten how the Reich-wing attack machine works? It seems so, at least as far as Obama is concerned.

33. No doubt they will

The attacks you've mentioned were already slung. How naive? Please.
Of course they'll attack any dem nominee. No need to put words in my
mouth.

There's so much more about Hillary that will come out-lots. Obama's
campaign didn't go there. The republicans will, and it won't be pretty.
They'll go after Bill too. Between the two of them, there's a lot of baggage.

16. astute observation.
An MSNBC pundit also commented, yesterday, that superdelegates might wanna keep their eyes on the constituency Obama is building, and make sure they're not left on the outside. (just look at Charlie Rangel, who some have suggested has hedged his bets via his wife's endorsement of Obama -- countering his earlier endorsement of Hillary)

3. Where is all this money coming from?
First, let me say that I voted for Obama yesterday, so don't slam me for being anti Obama!

I just want to know where the hell all this $$ is coming from. I don't buy the small donor but lots of them as a valid explaination. I've contributed what I could to my candidate of choice, but it was never more than $10 at a time. Even if we're talking about an average of $25 per person, that's 250,000 people! It's not reasonable to believe that 250,000 people dontribute $25 every week or so. To me, that means his $$ must be coming from bundlers, pacs or pretty wealthy individuals or lobbyists. That's fine by me, except Barack keeps saying I don't take money from Pacs and lobbyists. I don't really care where it's coming from, but I DO CARE that he seems to be lying about it.

18. no it's not. Obama has Kerry's donor/mail list
of 3 million. He also built a formidable small donor base of his own. And then there's the viral liberal blogosphere thing going on.

32. I saw mention of 170,000 new donors: $5,000,000 / 170,000 = $29.41 per donor
Small donations from a lot of donors = a lot of money.

They just keep bidding higher & higher without thinking about what might come up on the block later.

Have you all forgotten that it's still a LONG WAY till November????
