Obama camp thinks a draw is quite possible. Any solutions?
If neither side has enough delegates, and let's suppose Clinton has more of the popular vote and Obama has more states, what solution would you propose to prevent a bitter fight that might lead to a Republican victory? Obviously, neither Clinton nor Obama will volunteer to step aside, nor would their supporters want that.

Possible solutions include seating the Florida and Michigan delegates, but Obama people would not want that. It's quite unfair. If the decision is left to the superdelegates that would probably give an advantage to Clinton since many of those superdelegates are part of the entrenched Democratic Party that Obama is running against.

Another possibility maybe is freeing all the delegates to vote as they wish and letting each candidate give a presentation. Maybe that would break the deadlock.

This is a tough issue. As an Obama or Clinton supporter or unbiased supporter of neither, what might you propose that is reasonably fair to both sides?

Here's the link I'm basing this post on:

http://www.bloomberg.com/apps/news?pid=20601087&sid=a9T3ToQrPGqc&refer=home

"Barack Obama's advisers are anticipating the possibility of a Democratic presidential race deadlocked past the last primary, and the outcome may hinge on a fight over whether delegations from Florida and Michigan get seats at the party's national convention in Denver.

"One scenario prepared for the Illinois senator's campaign and released inadvertently yesterday with another document projects Obama will end up in June with 1,806 of the delegates who select the party's nominee to 1,789 for New York Senator Hillary Clinton. That is short of the number needed to win the nomination."

17. That's also probably why Edwards is out.
I think the DNC told him to get out.

6. I don't think there is going to be a brokered convention.
But if it comes to that, it means neither Clinton nor Obama has made the sale.

At that point, I think a third party should be nominated. Al Gore would be the obvious choice.

7. Edwards's delegates.
That's why Obama told Edwards to gather as many delegates as he could.

12. A "bitter fight" would not be justified.
If it's that close, we should accept the superdelegates' pick.

15. Somebody (Howard Dean?) needs to sit down w/ BO and HRC and figure out a plan before the convention
We cannot afford to waste our time, money and good will from the voters with ridiculous bickering about who got what. The opportunity is huge and we can't blow it on an internal battle between two candidates w/ so many issues in common.
