An endless campaign may be good for Democrats
If the Democratic race goes to June, that means the Republicans won't be able to focus their definition campaign on Obama during the "swiftboat season" between primaries and convention, or use Hillary to unite their splintered "three-legged stool"

At this point, the Republicans no longer know seem to know they even want to run against. Watching Rove on Fox is funny... he wants to be a player, but he doesn't know the play.

All that will unite the Republican party is McCain having a Dem opponent to fire on. Until he has that, the spotlight is on him and his un-conservative ways.

Clinton versus Obama will suck up all the media for as long as it lasts, and McCain would look like a crank sniping from the peanut gallery.

So if Obama vs. Clinton was positive (not unduly destructive) there's no real reason to end the traveling show. It's a popular show.

The lines of attack on Clinton and Obama are opposite. It's hard to see how McCain can run simultaneously against the two-headed Democrat as both inexperienced, and as the ultimate Washington insider.

Unfortunately, a positive Clinton v. Obama race might be too much to hope for. Just offering a different perspective.

1. I don't think so
Tens of millions, maybe hundreds, will be spent on the primary that could be used in the General.

Our candidate won't be able to start building a national organization until this is settled.

No, the longer this goes, the worse it is.

2. I actually agree with you....

The Dem race will get 80% of the airtime between now and the conventions.

McCain will be begging for some face time on TV.
