IMO, McCain will propose a draft, are we prepared to respond? Will this give him
the edge with middle america? Everyone I know believes it is necessary. They also still blame Carter for not dropping a nuke in '79.

7. Sounds Like Everybody You Know is as Batshit Crazy as He Is
A draft would provide the cannon fodder for all those "more wars" that McCain wants to start, and for keeping the Iraq war going for 100 years like he wants.

8. McCain would never propose a draft.
It would be the death knell of any campaign.

15. Or a knockout blow, that would have us spinning, since no one seems to be ready to respond. You
have to admit it would totally change the focus of the campaign.

16. A knockout blow to MCCAIN maybe. People are sick of their kids dying as it is...
if he tries that on TOP OF his already ridiculous stance on Iraq, it'll sink his campaign completely.

20. To sustain an occupation that most of America wanst to end ASAP.
McCain: I want to draft your children to die to sustain our occupation of Iraq.

Hillary or Obama: I want to reduce troop levels with the goal of withdrawing ALL troops from Iraq within a reasonable time frame.

Which will really resonate with voters that aren't insane war hawks?

25. He will need to use it to control the campaign debate. Also, the sooner the better for him,
so that he can handle the backlash.

10. Americans would never support it.
If he's dumb enough to make it a campaign issue, he'd screw himself over.
I could live with that.

and the complete loss of people's minds once again. It's something I certainly hope never happens.
