polled. I think women will be very very active this election now and in the GE. Hillary can win the GE. Especially with Rush's help and the RW evangelicals sitting out the election. I think more of them will come out to vote against Obama because many of them are closet bigots.

1. Don't Be Surprised
If Many of "Them" Come Out to Vote Against a Woman.

2. Women are NOT under-polled - they're the easiest to get on the phone, BUT...
a telephone survey isn't private. Women - especially those with more conservative husbands - are hesitant to tell pollsters they're voting for HRC, so, they don't.

For this reason, HRC has consistently gotten more votes than polling points. She has a shadow vote. I imagine this trend is greater in general elections than in primaries.

I was in polling for 8 years and we were doing surveys in NYS in 2000. She was going to beat Giuliani, THAT's why he dropped out.

4. There was a Diary at Mydd a few days ago that essentially proved that they are
The polling samples used by all the major polling groups had marginally more women in them than men, but they polled women at a consistently lower ratio of participaton than the exit polls from all the primaries this year are showing women to be participating at.

5. Women, like black voters, are turning out in record numbers. There's no anticipating that...
At one point, 68% of his caucus supporters were first-timers and 62% of hers were.

When pollsters conduct a survey, they always ask to speak to the "youngest registered voter in the house." Some firms ask to speak to "the youngest male registered voter" because young men are the most difficult to get on the phone. Women answer the phone in vastly higher numbers than men, so they're the easiest demographic group to get on the phone.

3. Do the polls call people? Land lines if they do
So, they aren't calling those who don't have land lines? THAT can be a big problem for sample. IF the only poll via land lines, they are not getting a really representative sample.

Plus, do they know a lot of people just blow them off and say the first thing that pops into their heads, if not just outright playing with 'em?
