Poll question: Now That We're Half-Way Done With The Primaries, What Has Been The Biggest Surprise To You?
On either side, in any aspect of the campaign so far?

1. That DUers could descend to such an amazing level of assholery in the guise of
supporting their candidates. And that applies equally to supporters of both, so don't try to say it's ALL the nasty Hillary people or ALL the cultish Obama people. Just stop it.

2. I think the fact that we don't have a nominee yet is the most surprising
I could have sworn Iowa was going to decide everything.

3. $118 Million Not Being Enough
to run a primary campaign on. And how unlikely it is that any candidate would be able to overcome that much money, which ought to scare the bejeezus out of all of us.

I'd be curious to compare the totals.

18. Howard Dean raised $52 million
and he was considered the money machine in that primary. I don't find Kerry's numbers broken out and the overall Presidential election was obscene, $480 million total. Makes me sick. We can do that but we can't build good schools or make sure that at least every child has health care.

5. I thought McCain was done a long time ago...
yet suddenly, here he was, coming from behind, and now...he's going to clinch it!
It's amazing.

9. Honestly, I thought it'd be either Romney or Ghoul.
In fact, I was betting on Ghoul. I was surprised he ran such an inept campaign.

10. I think God wants John McCain filleted to teach him humility and
anger management. His party is going to make silk purses out of that sow's ear.

12. The Awakening that Obama has been instrumental of.
It's not about him any more.
It's about a lot of Pissed Off People that there is hope for change.

doesn't really matter if he will deliver, it matters much that there is great interest in it.

13. Obama's stunning popularity. He has so far managed to beat BILL CLINTON along with Hillary
and that is AMAZING! Bill tried, unsuccessfully, to try to turn him into the "Black" candidate. It stuck in the MSM for a while but disappeared mostly after he did better than expected among white voters in SC and then cleaned up tuesday! I think he's going to be our next president despite the best efforts of the Clintons!

14. Is Ron Paul still raking in the money?
The media pretends like he doesn't exist anymore. Not that he's in any position to challenge McCave in delegates, but they hadn't mentioned him in some time, even when they talk about Huck and Willard.

Or is this another case of THEM (insert your own suspects here) silencing another anti-war voice (the insanity of the rest of his platform notwithstanding)

16. Several of the above
1. We don't have a nominee. Truthfully, we have two front-runners. This is one of the great primary battles in history. As a fan of the game, I love every minute of it.

2. The Obama phenomenon. He's not my guy, but wow! I only hope that if he goes all the way, all the young voters he seems to have energized remember that they need to come back in November or it doesn't count.

3. Rudy crash and burn. I love it when bad things happen to bad people.
