Senator Clinton won the popular vote on Tuesday
Edited on Fri Feb-08-08 12:29 AM by AJH032
It was extremely close, and I know that it ultimately does not matter; still, however, it is interesting to point out to the Obama supporters I see claiming it was an Obama victory because he won the most states (especially to those who claim Hillary should drop out).

So far:
Clinton 48.97% (6,967,302)
Obama 48.04% (6,835,447)

4. The entire Clinton campaign was designed around the idea...
..that Super Tuesday would be the coronation. That's why they had no organization in place for the small caucus states.... why their coffers are running low....why they are scrambling to get organized in the upcoming states to catch up with Obama's organization.

February 5th was SUPPOSED to be the end of the campaign for everyone not named Hillary Clinton.

That was her campaign's entire game plan. That's why Terry McAuliffe set up Super Tuesday the way he did... it was to aid his friends the Clintons.

The fact that Obama is not only still standing, but in a prime position to take the delegate lead by the end of the month, means that Super Tuesday was a HUGE victory for the Obama campaign and a stunning defeat for the Clintons.

This was supposed to be done by now.... that was their plan.

Then those pesky voters got in the way.

6. These numbers were before all the votes were counted ... and they're still insignificant
You should read your own link.

8. "So far"
clearly I knew that, but the lead of over 100,000 votes is likely not to be erased from the relatively small number of outstanding votes.

7. Obama came from behind, won more states, more delegates, and statistically tied the popular vote

Against a machine candidate who has had 16 years of national press attention. That's quite a victory.

9. Or
despite the 16+ years of Republicans painting Hillary as an evil witch and 16+ years of people buying it, she overcame and won the popular vote.

11. Democratic primary voters aren't interested in the GOP's opinion
Edited on Fri Feb-08-08 12:59 AM by Azathoth
Hillary didn't 'overcome' anything in the primaries. She was essentially handed 45% of the Democratic base by virtue of her celebrity, her gender, and who she is married to...and she hasn't been able to budge from there.

12. do not doubt
that the reason she is so detested by people from all over the political spectrum is because of a strikingly obvious campaign by the right to demonize her. The left, for the most part, simply bought into it (subconsiously though it may have been).
