Who Disagrees With This Recent Quote By A Republican?
"Helping a rogue president start an unnecessary war should be a career-ending lapse of judgment."

Agree or disagree? Why?

(For extra credit, identify the author of that quote.)

4. Side question: Why DID the last Dem president ENCOURAGE support for Bush
Edited on Fri Feb-08-08 01:55 PM by blm
amongst lawmakers and citizens nad the media and especially urged WORLD LEADERS like Tony Blair to stand with Bush on this?

Shouldn't HE bear responsibility as well, since he was the Dem who had greatest ACCESS to the facts over the years and was seen as most informed?

5. Lincoln Chafee (Republican turned Independent)
“I find it surprising now, in 2008, how many Democrats are running for president after shirking their constitutional duty to check and balance this president. Being wrong about sending Americans to kill and be killed, maim and be maimed, is not like making a punctuation mistake in a highway bill.

“They argue that the president duped them into war, but getting duped does not exactly recommend their leadership. Helping a rogue president start an unnecessary war should be a career-ending lapse of judgment.”

7. Ron Paul?
If so, I agree unless the candidate in question acknowledges and recants their lapse in judgement and works hard to fix the damage.

(That's my wiggle room for having supported Edwards.)

8. Everyone deserves an oops
People apologizing gives them credibility. Lack of apologies equal stubbornness. Though he might not have been my first choice, John Edwards is still my homeboy.

9. For extra-extra credit, what was the public support for the war then?
Edited on Fri Feb-08-08 02:07 PM by Xipe Totec

Those who criticize Bush for ignoring public opinion should not condemn congress for doing so.

12. Bush created the public opinion
by deceiving everyone. Some senators knew better though. Some didn't. Some did and chose not to know better.
