Clinton Campaign Threatens to Boycott MSNBC Debates
http://thecaucus.blogs.nytimes.com/2008/02/08/clinton-campaign-threatens-to-boycott-msnbc-debates/index.html

Updated The Clinton campaign may refuse to do any further debates on MSNBC because of a comment that David Shuster, a political correspondent, made regarding Chelsea Clinton.
Mr. Shuster has been suspended from appearing on all NBC News broadcasts, after asking during an interview whether “Chelsea is sort of being pimped out in some weird sort of way?” by making calls to superdelegates. He is supposed to be making an on-air apology later tonight.
But Howard Wolfson, a spokesman for the Clinton campaign, just said on a conference call with reporters that he was not aware of any apology so far. He said the comment was “disgusting” and “beneath contempt.”

1. They're running from debates. There's one on MSNBC and one on NBC - they'll ditch them both.

2. Senator Clinton is the one who asked for the debates.
Why would she want to "ditch them"? That makes no sense.

28. Every Single One.
She always comes off more prepared, more knowledgeable, more experienced, and more able to respond right off the cuff.

He does ok, but falters far more and has committed far more errors in his responses. He also doesn't carry anywhere NEAR the mystique he has when he's on the road preaching to the masses. He all of a sudden just comes off as human, and almost not quite as ready as she is to lead.

Why do you think he doesn't want more of them?

29. She comes OFF like she's knowledgeable to some maybe. To me she sounds like she's BSing
and talking AROUND things so she CAN'T be pinned down.

Some may see it is smart, but I see it as manipulative. Obama does it a tad himself, but not on the scale Clinton does.

After perpetuating the story line that she

is a trader, and will surrender to Al Qaeda.

Because the more people know Obama the more they vote for him. She no longer has the absentee edge.

6. FOX has made consistently WORSE comments for a decade and Clintons NEVER threw
this type of a fit. This is a Rove move where everyone takes a big gulp out of a bottle of Feign-Feign.

7. Here's hoping the Clintons keep up their "high maintenance" drama. They are turning people off.
The more the American people see this couple and their petulance and how they over-play every single thing, the more the American people remember the Clintons as a couple.

I'm glad this happened.

And I hope they cancel the debates with MSNBC. It only helps Obama in the end.

This couple is high maintenance and thin-skinned and frankly, they make a mountain out of every mole hill.

Keep it up Bill & Hillary & Mark & James & Terry! You only are reminding millions of Americans just how sick they are of all of you.

23. Yes.. see the running narrative playing out? We Want Debates or Obama is a Coward . We
Want Debates Where and When We Want Them or Obama is a Scaredy Cat. We Won't Debate on MSNBC Because They're Mean to Us and Called Chelsea a Bad Name and If Obama Insists on Debating There He Must Support MSNBC Calling Our Daughter A Bad Name. If He Refuses to Debate at Fox, Obama is a Coward.

12. Has the fundraising email gone out yet, Mr. Wolfson? Hillary lept at this debate. No way would she
pull out, but slimy Howard Wolfson will mine this stupid comment by Schuster for every last dime and every last vote. "Damn you, Schuster!" What a moronic thing to say!

They are just trying to keep the news cycle talking about them.
Let the Clintons go to Faux. They have said worse than THAT about all 3 Clintons. But let her do it. I GUARANTEE she will lose grassroots support.

19. Well for the most part--he speaks the truth.
He fucked up...and apologized.
If he were a republican he would just have to say that he misspoke and all would be forgiven.
But let's just throw the ONE reporter who was willing to go to the mats on the Plame affair and give the progressive voice a fair shake.
Go figure--Clinton's just helped ALL of the right wingers by making sure ONE progressive voice is silenced.
(pimping is not just prostituting....it has evolved to mean other things)

is an example of how she will respond to this kind of uncomfortable conflict, it is too much like bush for me.

I'm not defending the comment- but her response is overblown.

peace~
