Should David Schuster have asserted on national TV that Chelsea Clinton has sex with men for money,
and that she walks the streets at night looking to turn tricks at the behest of Sen. Hillary Clinton and President Bill Clinton, and that they physically beat her when the money with which she returns home is, in their minds, insufficient?

Yeah, if *I* had been him, *I* sure wouldn't have done that. DUMB!

6. #1 I realize that. #2 He shouldn't have. #3 Yes he is.
#4 That's unfortunate as well.

And, yes, I'd like to continue this discussion, since so many were eager to jump on top of him for saying something that most of us have probably said about a politician, in one form or another, at one time or another.

11. Pfft
#1 if you realize that what you posted is bs, why did you post it?

He used a very bad metaphor that he should not have used. No one believes he literally meant that she was having sex for money, except for people on here who feel the need to be angry because that's the only way some Clinton supporters can get inspired.

15. Well, exactly my point. He didn't say, imply or mean the above, so what's the problem?
This is just a bunch of BS.

People use that phrase or similar ones all the time in politics. NOW someone is whining about it? Gimme a break.

What an odd election.

4. geez it's hard out here for a pimp
I love Schuster and his choice of words is regrettable.
Thing is... pimping is common language for just about any kind of selling.
Silly smallminded people seem a bit overwrought about the whole thing.
Protest too much ???

5. Hey, I'm old but not so unhip that I don't know how the word is used in recent years.
Cripe - it's all over TV with Pimp my ride - as in make it shiny and new.

And E network and MTV. Jiminy crickets, oldsters. Pimp is like a groovy word nowadays.

heh

9. Get over it.
The PC Police have now achieved the firing of one MSNBC employee and the suspension of another. What they DIDN'T do is go after Al Roker when he was reporting from Dubai and when the subject of Disneyland came up, he referred to "Mickey Mohammed." Roker gets a free pass on "insensitivity," I guess.

12. Sorry, but I can't defend Slimus.
His firing had nothing to do with PC. Unless you think "being PC" is the ONLY reason not to call a women's college basketball team "nappy headed hos." Just saying.

16. I'm a free speech absolutist and I do not condone censorship
whether it comes from the gov't or from corporations like MSNBC and their parent company.

I'm also a big fan of the many buttons on my remote, particularly the ones that allow me to change the channel when I hear something I don't like.

13. It's the "kids are out of bounds" comments that bug me.
So if Schuster would have said this about anyone BUT the daughter of the candidate, it would have been fine?

18. Exactly
But it's all just part of a larger pattern at MSNBC. Olbermann compared Vitter's wife to (dressing as) a streetwalker, Scarborough said that Thompson's wife looked like she worked a (stripper) pole. yeah sure they are Repug wives but it's the culture at MSNBC that is sexist.
