Poll question: A possible solution to Florida.

People were led to believe that this was a beauty pageant or a strawpoll. They understood that it would not translate into delegates. It was on that basis that many chose not to participate.

To tell them now that theat election was vaild.. Disenefranchises hundreds of thousands of Floridians.

Why not allow people to vote absentee for a month? It wouldbe cheaper than either a primary or a caucus and would allow the current vote totals to stand.

2. Bad Idea
I already voted, for Edwards.

People in Florida were told to vote January 29. The Florida Democratic Party supposedly considered all sorts of options to comply with DNC rules and decided to keep the rogue primary.

They can't change rules now, that would be a slap in the face to people who actually voted 1/29.

The time to do a vote by mail primary is over.

3. A question.
What did the ballot say?

Did it say you voting to nominate a candidate? Becuase then it would be a fraud.

Did it say that the election would not be for allocation of delegates or di d itinform the voterin anyway that the election would have no bearing on the nominating porcess.

Did it imply in any sense that the vote would matter or did not matter.

If it did...I think there are going to be lawsuits about this one way or the other.

4. It Was No Different Than Any Other
Do primary ballots normally state that the ballot is for a delegate who will cast a vote for the candidate to whom they are pledged?

Do our ballots for President in the general election state we are voting for electors to choose the President?

There was plenty of publicity over Florida's delegates being stripped, and reassurances from the party that somehow our delegation will be seated and recognized. Our senator, Bill Nelson, and others even tried to sue the DNC to get the sanctions removed, and that did not work. I do not think the Democratic voters of Florida our the Democratic party as a whole will be served well by further lawsuits over the issue.
