Governor of Ohio, Ted Strickland says Hillary’s the one
Gov. Ted Strickland believes Hillary Clinton has the maturity and experience to be a great president of the United States.

That, along with her ability to get things done and her loyalty, are the reasons he’s endorsed her for the job, he told a crowd of more than 200 Clinton supporters who turned out for a Hillary rally at The Regency House on Mahoning Avenue Friday.

Hillary Clinton is committed to public service and has spent her life helping people, he said.

“These are dangerous times,” Strickland said, referring to ongoing wars and economic challenges and accusing President Bush for pouring the country’s resources overseas and destroying the country’s relationship with nations that have been America’s friends for decades.

1. Hillary votes for war, and then uses the war to say the world is too dangerous
to trust to Obama. Oh, how con-VEEEEEN-ient!

9. You spent that nickle already.
Tell yah what. I'll stop saying Obama is wet behind the ears and still working on his Cub Scout civics badge if you stop pretending HC started this war. I know you really want that to be true, but it just isn't.

15. Yes...I live in Michigan and things are really bad here.
If Ohio is feeling anything like we are, it should be ripe for Clinton to come right in and win. She has been very strong on the economy and foreclosures and has concrete solutions. She got 57% in the Michigan Primary last month. At least Ohio's votes will count. I am not so sure about ours yet. Time will tell.

21. The primary is in March. Now is when it matters.
Oh, but you are concerned that the symbolism isn't valid. Well, as we have seen, HC isn't about symbolism. She's about competence. All that flowery language is not going to get the economy on its feet, negotiate peace overseas or put the Federal government in order. I can forgive political sins, but the one thing that neither I nor the public will forgive is incompetence.

Ted Strickland's endorsement means far more to me than anyone else. And guess what, I vote in March. And this state trusts Strickland. And Strickland can deliver this state in November. Whoever wins two of Ohio, Penna and FL wins the WH. We have already pissed off FL by disenfranchising them, so we are down to OH and PA.

24. It was presented in the present tense, as though it just happened.
that's SOP for Hillary folks here. Whenever I see reference to an endorsement of Clinton on DU, I google it to see when it actually happened. I believe it's intentionally misleading.

It was also a call for volunteers. Frankly, I was thinking of posting it myself.

28. I don't know if anyone has ever been as ready for the presidency.
Okay, Al Gore was, but except for him. She'll have the Feds running like a Swiss watch. And the war will end. And she can get to work on our worthless currency. How can we create jobs if our money is worth half of what it was? And she can a climate treaty. Knowing where the bodies are buried really, really helps get things done.

41. Ted Strickland is a DLCer...New Democrat...moderate, centrist, etc.
He is not a progressive.

So it comes to no surprise to me that the "New Dem of the Week" on the DLC website would endorse one of his own. This has little to do with leadership and capability, and more to do with political alliances and patronage.
