I don't think Hillary and Obama will be on the same ticket. Neither brings anything to the table that the other could use that would balance them out. Hillary needs someone from a red state, preferably insanely popular that could deliver that state with no problem in the GE. Obama needs someone with military credientials.

Assuming that they're not on the ticket together, do you think either one would have a role in the other's administration, or do you see the loser going back to the Senate?

I think it's more likely Obama or Clinton wind up in the senate. Though I could see Obama offering Clinton the Secretary of State position to Hillary should he be the nominee (providing he doesn't offer it to Biden).
