10. I know many republicans here in Mississippi who will vote for Hillary in the GE.

The republicans hate Hillary's views on a lot of issues but they also like the fact that she can get things done. Mississippi is ready for universal health care and getting the hell out of Iraq. Most of the African-American women here, like myself, are supporting and donating to Hillary. Obama is winning the black men vote because they like him, not because his policies are better.

She'll be easier to beat than Obama (at least according to current polls) and if she does get elected they'll take advantage of all of the hatred the republican base has for her to push for a republican majority in 2010 or a repub president in 2012. They're apathetic enough about McCain that they believe a Clinton presidency might be better for them in the long run.

by my father. My parents are a mixed family, living in WA, and I just called to encourage them to go caucus(aprox 15 minutes ago). My father(the R)and I rarely agree on anything political. He said today, and I quote, "I am encouraging people to switch over to the democrats and vote for Hillary, now that McCain has won"... His reasoning... McCain will beat Hillary because of his "strength of charicter". Then there was another little stomach turning bit about whether I thought I could take the torture that St McCain went through. Whatever else my dad may be(an incompassionate jerk, for instance), a liar is not it. My little window into GOPdom says they really do think Hillary will be easy pickings.
