Poll question: What is the TOP reason you support your candidate?
Just curious. I am an Edwards supporter and have pretty major issues with both Clinton and Obama, BUT I think Obama may have the best chance of beating McCain. I don't have a problem with voting for either of them in the GE, but for our primary in March, well, I'm torn. So, what is your PRIMARY reason for supporting Clinton or Obama; electibility, issues, or the anti-vote.

Not that I mind, I'd rather vote for RuPaul.

7. I support Obama because he has
New ideas,
Brings more voters to look at the issues
is more progressive than Hillary
Has sound judgement
had great policies
will signal to the world that we are who we say we are
will have larger coattails during the GE
will beat McCain in Nov
will be a great President who will speak to our conscience instead of to our fears
will inspire us everyday

Will Barack at the helm, we can change the world!

9. I didn't select any, but I will say this
Transparency in Gov't that O is calling for is very intriguing to me and his efforts to make the constituency feel like they are more a part of our gov't is encouraging. With greater transparency of campaign funds and congress votes, poeple can hold their lawmakers more accountable. The more people that do this will help ensure that we get the kind of representatives that we want. From the ground up.

10. It was really a difficult choice for me to make. I finally made my decision while driving
to the poll to vote last Tuesday! I prefer Hillary's hc plan, and I think she would be better able to fight off the Pub dirt. However, I hate the idea that a Clinton would look like we are promoting a dynasty! I finally decided to vote for Obama. I HOPE he gets enough GOOD advisors to fight the Pub dirty tricks and stop them from doing a Clinton style constant attack for 8 years!

11. I'm an Edwards supporter who has switched to Hillary.
I've said many times how I came to my decision, so if you want something more in-depth I can look up some other posts of mine.

But my primary reason is because she has a keen grasp on the issues, and being that she's been in the machine for a very long time, she knows how to get stuff done. Lofty idealism is feel-good, but I don't need feel-good. I need action, I need results. And while their policies are similar, I give hers the edge.

This article on health care carried some weight with me too:

13. Yes, I too supported Edwards, and am leaning towards Clinton, but...
the first one that shows me a health plan with specifics, and NOT written by the insurance companies, has my vote!

14. I support Obama, because he will remove our troops from Iraq in 2009.
Edited on Sat Feb-09-08 03:19 PM by awaysidetraveler
HRC plans to withdraw troops and leave bases in Iraq until as late as 2013,
and I know that's a recipe for disaster.

There's a bunch of other good reasons to vote for Obama.

FrenchieCat's got a good line in on those reasons.

19. he's not her.
The "her" I dislike has little to do with her as a person and nothing to do with her gender, but more her economic policy.
