Tweety *should* be fired, and not just for sexism
I'm an Obama supporter but over the past year I've watched Matthews and his Hillary obsession with growing alarm. Yes, he's said some horribly sexist things about her and other women - but he's dangerous in other ways, too. Ways that will hurt any Democrat who ends up being the nominee, so we should all unite at least under the banner that Tweety needs to go.

Three or four months ago, Tweets was on one of his Hillary rants - which basically has been most of his show, other than his brief flares of romance with the GOP candidates - and he went from obsessed to batshit crazy. Leaning across his desk, his moon face blood red and his lips full of spittle, he literally SCREAMED the following at his guest, his voice filled with the wildest hysteria:

"Is Hillary a socialist? Is she a socialist? Is she a socialist?"

I honestly thought he was going to have a heart attack. His guest looked stunned.

For this comment alone, he needs to go.

Matthews is NOT ignorant of political systems. He KNOWS what socialism is. He also knows that Hillary Clinton is about as far from being a socialist as Trent Lott. He knowingly committed a fraud on his viewers. A so called political 'expert' lied about one of the most basic political frameworks possible, one that any undergraduate student in political science would know in their sleep. And this is what he'll do to whomever gets our nomination, when he isn't busy informing the public that McCain 'deserves the presidency' or is 'the first maverick since Teddy Roosevelt to win the Republican nomination' or that McCain is 'in his heart'.

Enough. He needs to go.

2. I think he should be fired because he is a fool. Certainly there are better people
for that job than that slob.

3. How about we calm down about firing people?
I like MSNBC and will continue to watch. The comments about Chelsey were stupid but that is over and done with. Candidates families (except maybe for former Presidents) are generally off limits.

6. Schuster made a mistake, but Tweety has a pattern of being
a sexist idiot, and anti-progressive. He needs to go.

15. Did you see him yesterday? We was fawning over Hillary, interviewing McAuliffe
I think he varies in which side he takes and sometimes makes me mad but I don't want him fired.

another House Un-American Activities Committee so that we can protect ourselves from free speech!

19. And it is not a recent developement. He has been a tool for years
He should have been off air when his brother was running for office and he was Rah Rah GOP. He should be off air for his obvious vendetta for not being hired by Bill Clinton. He has never demonstrated much objectivity.

His bias is NOTHING new. He was a GOP cheerleader through a lot of BS. He has drooled over bush for years and it is rather sad to watch; so I don't. If enough joined me, he wouldn't be on long.

7. Agreed, I really liked Shuster.
I wanted him to replace Tucker (didn't work out for him very well that day though). I think he needs to make a "real" apology, not "if I offended anyone" and get back to work. I really like the guy.

10. Just stop watching
A dumb sitcom like this would be canceled because of the ratings. Cancel yourself out of their viewership.

14. If Matthews said about Black public figures what he says about women, he'd be off the air a la Imus.

16. That's why I say fire everyone. Then no one has to worry about
being offended, and no (former) employee will have to worry about what they say.

Just fire everyone. And then we can continue to be hypocrites about censorship, be it from gov't or corporations.

Works out nicely, huh?

13. He's horrendous and it's his brand of rhetoric that led someone like Schuster to make the
thoughtless comments that he made. If MSNBC really cared, they'd go to the source of the problem instead of the symptom.

17. Tweety talks too much.
I could go for a dream contract specifying that he only talk half as much as he's doing now, and _never_ interrupt a guest after he's asked them a question. He's really awful about doing this, especially with female guests.

18. He called Giuliani a fascist - but he said it as a compliment
When Tweety was interviewed on the Imus show:

"The subways didn't smell like pee anymore. Even the phone booths in New York have always smelled like pee -- when there's not even a booth, it's just a phone and it smells like pee. And this guy cleaned it up, and he made you feel like you had a right to walk the street safely. I think he did a great job. I'm sorry. And I think the country wants a boss like that. You know, a little bit of fascism there. Just a little bit. Just a pinch of it."

21. Hillary should be fired from the Democratic party.
Tweety is an idiot, but he's far less dangerous and harmful as Miss Patriot Act, Miss Torture, Miss I Have No Backbone.

All this hostility aimed at news people is dangerous and misplaced. If you don't like them, why are you watching them? If you are incapable of turning your own TV off, better work on that and not worry about Tweety.
