CNN about Washington Governor: "She's for Obama. That's the only problem"
I am watching the Washington Caucus feed on CNN.com. The CNN talking head calls the "control room" and asks if they should have Governor Gregoire on. The CNN talking head then says "She's for Obama. That's the only problem." WTF is that?

as i understand it, they couldn't just interview Governor Gregoire without having someone from Seantor Clinton's's side.

Gregoire is coming to this particular caucus, which is in Seattle. I have't heard if Cantwell and Murray is coming to this particular one...

11. since when?
CNN does that all the time, and the caucus has already begun so it would hardly influence anyone in Washington.

12. A politician who supports Clinton in addition to a politician who supports
Obama? Or do they only want one endorsing Clinton?

If that's the case - boy, will they hear about it!

25. Yeah they did endorse her. Maybe they're at different precincts? Although it
seems Gregoire knew this was the one CNN was covering.

I hate being HERE and not being THERE! Plus, not having cable.

And, since I'm on a roll, I'm bummed that Brave New Films and Cenk aren't covering this today.

Thanks for listening! :pals:

candidate - not necessarily that it was Obama.

Yeah, they turned off her mic - she wasn't happy when she learned it was still live.

20. In '92 CNN all but ignored Jerry Brown.
He was only a two-term governor in the largest state in the union.

He raised the Whitewater scandal in a debate then, and was ignored by CNN.

He also talked about the need to reform the corruption in Congress, two years before the Repukes took over exploiting that issue. Bill Clinton was silent because he wanted support from the Congressional superdelegates.

Brown was very prophetic in '92, and CNN painted him as a nut case.

21. Whitewater was a dog and pony show. Bushies needed to get INTO Rose Law Firm and scrub it
Edited on Sat Feb-09-08 05:32 PM by blm
because its biggest client was Jackson Stephens who had a lot of dirt dealings with GHWBush including being the guy who brought a bank by the name of BCCI into this country. He also had the WTI deal in Ohio and was the man who STAKED WalMart in the 70s.

BTW - he also bankrolled Bill Clinton's political career in Arkansas INCLUDING his primary race for president.

Does anyone REALLY think Whitewater was the reason Bushies set up shop at Rose Law Firm for months?

26. 14 people convicted in Whitewater, four of whom are pardoned by Bill Clinton.
Ultimately the Clinton's were never charged, but 14 other persons were convicted of more than 40 crimes, including a sitting Governor who was removed from office.

Jim Guy Tucker: Governor of Arkansas at the time, removed from office (fraud, 3 counts)
John Haley: attorney for Jim Guy Tucker (tax fraud)
William J. Marks Sr.: Jim Guy Tucker business partner (conspiracy)
Stephen Smith (Whitewater): former Governor Clinton aide (conspiracy to misapply funds). Bill Clinton pardoned.
Webster Hubbell: Clinton political supporter; Rose Law Firm partner (embezzlement, fraud)
Jim McDougal: banker, Clinton political supporter: (18 felonies, varied)
Susan McDougal: Clinton political supporter (multiple fraud, contempt of court) Bill Clinton pardoned.
David Hale: banker, self proclaimed Clinton political supporter: (conspiracy, fraud)
Neal Ainley: Perry County Bank president (embezzled bank funds for Clinton campaign)
Chris Wade: Whitewater real estate broker (multiple loan fraud) Bill Clinton pardoned.
Larry Kuca: Madison real estate agent (multiple loan fraud)
Robert W. Palmer: Madison appraiser (conspiracy). Bill Clinton pardoned.
John Latham: Madison Bank CEO (bank fraud)
Eugene Fitzhugh: Whitewater defendant (multiple bribery)
Charles Matthews (Whitewater): Whitewater defendant (bribery)

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Whitewater_scandal#Convictions

Nothing like having that pardon power so that you prevent people from testifying against you like Clinton and Bush did.

It is also worth noting that Starr had no authority to investigate the Clinton's involvement with Bush Co., Inc. in Iran-Contra.

That investigation, you know, was sabotaged by Bush when he pardoned those who could implicate him. Clinton refused to pursue an investigation for obstruction of justice, and Bush, Jr., refused to investigate Clinton for the same regarding the Whitewater pardons. Now the Bushes and the Clinton's are best buddies.

Is anyone surprised?

To this day, the Rose law firm shreds every book and piece of paper that leaves that office.

What would really be in an old law reporter book?

Rose is afraid...

35. The popular meme here is that all that Starr found was illicit sex, which isn't true.
It simply isn't possible to break open these cases when the President of the U.S.A. is pardoning the people who could be squeezed into implicating other conspirators.

28. cantwell & murray had to be pretty elusive this weekend
they knew the numbers would be pretty lopsided, and they didn't want to be publicly on the losing end. But if they don't make themselves available, that balance equation should be tossed out. Just interview Gregoire, gimme a break...
