I love both Hillary and Barack and don't play favorites, but . . .
I think it would be very cool to have a president who speaks so eloquently that when he gives a speech, his words and voice can be set to music - and they sound beautiful?!

Yes, I know that this is not a primary reason to vote for a president - and I'm not suggesting that anyone do so based on this, and yes, I know that Hillary has many wonderful talents and strengths and I'm not suggesting that anyone vote AGAINST her because this is not necessarily one of them (but I don't know, maybe Will.i.am can work his magic on her, too).

But I DO think th "Yes, I Can" video is very cool and it makes me feel very proud that this strong, eloquent, inspirational brother is one of our Democratic candidates.

1. I am sorry, but your first paragraph made me throw up in my mouth a little.

Very creepy. :puke:

Edited to add: If someone wrote this about Hillary DU would explode with accusations of insanity and worship.

They want to wear you down. It's just lashing out, and like a child, we shouldn't reward negative behavior by giving them attention.

22. Somebody started a very nice, positive thread about BOTH candidates, and
as usual, a Clintonite has to invade and spill bile unnecessarily. I guess a candidate attracts people who are sort of like that candidate.

6. I understand how the OPer would like an eloquent speaker as Prez after the past 7 years.
We had to endure Mr. Can't-Complete-A-Cohesive-Sentence for so long, it would be a wonderful change! ;-)

7. This is no small thing. We have relationships around the world that need to be healed
They don't have the luxury to see our candidates like we do -- only in soundbytes from their news or YouTube. Given that -- we have to take cadence into account. I would rather be represented by a progressive eloquent speaker that can make our case to the world than someone who has a tendency to YELL when she is trying to make a point.

13. Hillary has an outstanding relationship with foreign countries ...Obama
will have to earn one. Most of the leading developed countries are not religous like the US and preacher style rhetoric is offensive to most (UK, China, Russia, Canada, France ...). Many of the underveloped nations are Islamic nations ... Obama's crusade style speeches will not be a hit. His ill-spoken remarks about bombing Pakistan have already left a mark that will be difficult to remove.

That is not to take away from his speaking style ...its great, but it belongs behind a pulpit.

Please take it outside. I'm really sick and tired of having every one of my positive posts hijacked by the various supporters who want to turn everything into a "your candidate is the spawn of the devil" diatribe.

Please stop it. Both - all - of you.

16. You make a good point.
I, too, feel that Obama portrays excellent oration, but he is young and still wet behind the ears. Saying a lot of great things and doing them are very difficult to do.

I will vote for him if he wins the right to go to the General Election, but until then, I have to go with experience--Hillary Clinton. She has already been there and knows a little bit more about what to expect and how to get these things accomplished.IMHO. :hi:

24. More power to you - they're both excellent candidates and would make outstanding presidents
I'm glad to see people vote for whomever they want. I'm just tired of people thinking that supporting one candidate means tearing the other one down. It's not only counter-productive, it's childish and shows a gross political naivete. Even the candidates they support don't feel or behave that way.

26. I might live with a president's voice a few minutes a day, but policies are 4/365
Four years, 365 days every year, the president's policies affect me in everything I do, and often carry over into the far-off future. I don't care if the president speaks like Peewee Herman, if that person can implement policies that benefit the citizens of America as well as the rest of the world.

It makes me wonder, if bush had been a great speaker, would Barack have made such an impact?
