We are supposed to be in a democracy, not a dictatorship. High government officials including presidential candidates shouldn't be able to get anyone fired. That's a slippery slope. If we don't watch it our opponents on the right will use the same precedent to get progressives fired. Leave that to Shuster's employer. And as far as I know those radio hosts who got fired were fired by their employers after public pressure. They were not fired because some government official ordered it.
