Obama supporter here offering a gracious message of condolences.
We won big tonight but I recognize that the Hillary supporters must be feeling very low tonight after a brutal week.

Let's continue to be as sensitive as we hope they would be if the situation were reversed (and it may very well still be reversed in the near future!)

2. brutal week?
This would be the week that Hillary won California, which was being hyped as Obama's to lose?

I congratulate the Obama campaign on their victories tonight, but I doubt many Hillary supporters will be surprised by them.

California was hers to loose. It would have cinched the nomination if he had won it.

27. i didn't say i believed the hype
But there were certainly MSM pieces - and Zogby polling - suggesting Obama would score California, and that it would be a real fight for Hillary.

As it happened, he didn't, and it wasn't.

32. You are a very shrewd democrat.
You know that she had a clear advantage with the early voters. It would have been
an uphill struggle for him to have overcome her early voter lead. You knew it. I knew it.

The Zogby poll was a last minute outlier. You are being disengenous to say it :would be a real fight for Hillary."

You know that it was the reverse. You have a strong presence here. Please keep your credibility and eliminate
the spin cycle.

19. Sorry, but HRC had been leading in most polls in CA and only until about a couple of weeks ago
was he beginning to close the gap, she also benefitted in CA by early voting.

20. She should not have the power to get anyone fired.
We are supposed to be in a democracy, not a dictatorship. High government officials including presidential candidates shouldn't be able to get anyone fired. That's a slippery slope. If we don't watch it our opponents on the right will use the same precedent to get progressives fired. Leave that to Shuster's employer. And if they decide to give the guy a second chance after making just one slip of the tongue, then so be it.

26. Excuse me...Lots of radio people get fired for INAPPROPRIATE CONTENT on their show
Edited on Sat Feb-09-08 09:07 PM by ray of light
it's in their contract that they can be fired for inappropriate content.

AND the fact is that calling anyone a pimp is NOT APPROPRIATE.

Frankly, if it were me, I'd go cut his n*ts off. So he better be thankful he's only getting fired.

30. I didn't say he shouldn't be fired.
Edited on Sat Feb-09-08 09:28 PM by totodeinhere
I said leave that up to his employer. What I said was that Hillary shouldn't have the power to get him fired. That's an entirely different issue.

And as far as I know those radio hosts who got fired were fired by their employers after public pressure. They were not fired because some government official ordered it.

13. Bonobo,
I know you are a kind person. I have seen your efforts of outreach here.

But most of the brutality was theirs. I will not repeat what I have been called this week.
It was rough.

I do not sense they are feeling low. One totally dissed Nebraska as it it were not a worthy state.
I will save my sympathy for a worth cause.

I hope that you can take an honest look at GD Primaries right now and notice how gracious Obama fans are being. Look at the lack of "Ha Ha!" posts.

No one is gloating. We are trying to raise the level here.

24. sometimes I have a hard time distinguishing sarcastic snark from honest well-wishing
It has been disappointing lately.

We'll vote for whom ever wins the nomination. My husband is for Obama, I am for Hillary. In the end, we'll vote for the Democratic candidate.

Good luck to both candidates. May the people select the best person for the job of Commander in Chief.

25. I can sign onto this thought- with no problem- it has been a very
long week for both campaigns.

I'd like to see some of the energy that we had after the last 'debate' return. That night was a really good night not only for Hillary and Obama, but for our party, and the whole country.

:hi: to all who are invested in this journey for the White House-

peace~
