Edited on Sun Feb-10-08 12:41 AM by SlipperySlope
What kind of recriminations will there be in the party? Who gets the blame and what happens in 2012? Is this basically the end of the DLC and give the netroots and liberal bloggers control?

Original question here in case you don't "get" my sarcasm.

1. I won't care. I'll have moved to Europe.
If after 8 years of George W. Bush as president a majority of Americans still think that his party is fit to run the show I'll have lost all faith. That's a pretty depressing thought since I'm only 27.

4. Obama will do no better.
And it's quite possible he'll do worse. I think the Democratic Party has screwed itself good this year, between sub-par candidates and the Amazing Caving Congress. Add that to porking the voters of MI and FL out of their votes in the primaries and it'll be a wonder if either House of Congress or the WH are in Democratic hands come Jan, 2009.

I know that my enthusiasm is at an all time low. And I know that I'm not the only one.

5. I'm guessing that there are more like you on the GOP side
than there are on the Dem side. Based on what I've read and seen a lot of people are motivated to come out to the primaries.

23. I *had* a problem with NJ
But I kicked NJ's ass and have hardly heard a peep out of it since.

You can NOT seriously think that NJ is some sort of gauge for the entire US, can you?

15. I have two friends who I know are GOP partisans
Edited on Sun Feb-10-08 12:33 AM by Cant trust em
They're not too thrilled right now. They both told me that they regret their votes for GWB in 2004. One of them will vote for Obama over McCain, but not for Hillary. I have some registered republican family members, but they are hardly party liners. They are all over the map.

But I'm from California, so this is pretty unreliable for any kind of national movement.

DEM turnout of 70% to 75%, means DEMs across the country are pumped up.

Apparently you are from a universe where things are reversed, like a doppleganger.

8. Was that necessary?
Couldn't you just comment or disagree politely?

The problem with emails and posts are that everyone's so safe in their anonymity. So many people "say" things in type that they wouldn't dare say to someone's face.

17. Actually David Frost said that to Richard Nixon.
Considering the comment it was directed at, its quite tame. And I have used it to peoples faces for decades. And will continue to do so. Thank you.

9. 70 - 75%? Really?
Even if true, that amounts to less than 25% of voters. Think about that.

20. Right 73% on super tuesday. I'll take those percents in November in a heart beat.
Because it means a DEM president with a huge mandate. Of course if thats whats bumming you out, well thats fine with me.

14. No kidding. Look at the Dem turnout in LA today, as red a state as they come...
And the Dem turnout more than doubled the GOP turnout.

It's sad that some folks equate their preferred candidate's troubles with an impending disaster in November. I guess for some, it's less about the party and the country and more about themselves. Oh, well.

16. It depends on whether or not the primaries were decided by the superdelegates.
If the people choose Obama, and the superdelegates give it to Hillary, there will be a huge uprising. You will see people leaving the dem party in groves.

If she wins the nomination on her own, then I do think she'll have problems because republicans will come out in droves to beat her.

If Obama is the candidate, he'll trounce McCain because he has more appeal nationwide on both sides.

18. I find that scenario highly unlikely...the only "landslide" McCain
is likely to see is hope at being president rushing into the Valley of Failure on the debris of a miserable campaign.

Either Obama or Clinton will defeat McCain so handily he'll have to change his name and move to Mexico.
