Obama up7% Over McCain in Latest "Times" Poll, on heels of 2/9/08 Sweep
Edited on Sun Feb-10-08 07:48 AM by mikekohr
Senator Barack Obama posted big wins in the first contests after Super Tuesday. The Senator won the Virgin Islands with nearly 90% of the vote, won Washington state 68% to 31%, won Nebraska 68% to 32% and won Louisiana 53% to 39%.

Senator Obama picked up 31 delegates to Senator Clinton's 9, extending his lead in delegates won, 892 to 864 (when Super-Delegates are figured in Senator Clinton leads by approx 70).

Record turnouts were the hallmark of the contests. In Nebraska, caucus sites were so overwhelmed that caucus rules were suspended and people voted on slips of blue paper.

In a related note a new "Times" poll, in head to head match-ups, shows Republican Senator John McCain holding Senator Hillary Clinton to a tie but losing to Senator Barack Obama by 7% points.
