A Message To Clinton Supporters
Edited on Sun Feb-10-08 09:33 AM by berni_mccoy
I completely understand how you are feeling today. No one knew what was going to happen yesterday and I don't think anyone realistically expected what did happen. I know how I would feel if the tables were turned, and many of you must be pretty disappointed. I just want you to know that we are all still Democrats and that the election isn't over. Anything can happen and I'm not counting on anything but this: We need to have a Democrat as the next President.

I just wanted you to know this Obama supporter stands in solidarity with *all* my fellow Democrats.

Peace.

On edit: I apologize to those who are not disappointed or who predicted yesterday's sweep. It was not my intent to gloat and I'm sorry if this message came across that way. I only meant to acknowledge that the election isn't over and I am not taking anything for granted. It still can be anyone's nomination at this point.

You can't stand Obama because of the actions of some of his supporters?
If we used that criterion we couldn't support anyone.

20. Expected by whom?
Most talking heads I have seen on the cable news networks seem to think that the results for both Texas and Ohio are open to question. Yes, Clinton has been ahead there but when he has time to campaign in any one place Obama's numbers always go way up.

6. Thank You For Your Support ...You Sir, Are A Gentleman
I saw yesterday coming a mile away...

I expect her to lose every contest this month with the possible exception of today's caucus...

If she can win OH and TX on 3/4 we have a race again... She should also win KY, WV, and PR but nothing is guaranteeed...

It irks me when some on this board compare her to that clown, Ghouliani... He won one fucking delegate...

If I'm Hillary I literally make Texas and Ohio my last stand and I tell the press that and the good people of those two states... It has three benefits- It's the truth...The MSM will say it anway...And it will make those folks feel important... I spend every penny I have in those two states and every day I have campaigning there...I go to every part of Texas and Ohio... I talk to those left behind...

Let's see what Team Clinton is made of...They came back from the dead in New Hampshire..."Prosperity conceals character.Adversity reveals it."

43. Can you point me to the threads that were predicting this? Because I was on Friday and yesterday
Edited on Sun Feb-10-08 10:02 AM by berni_mccoy
and I didn't see any such threads claiming Obama would sweep this weekend. And everything I've heard to date from MSM/pundits leading into the weekend is that while Obama does better in caucuses, this is going to remain a very close race. That doesn't say "sweep" 3 quite different states as WA, LA and NE.

I'm sorry, but I don't see what anyone was talking about expecting this weekends results.

I am not one of the "sheepel" who just votes as the media and DLC want. Considering Bush has once again done another Signing Statement Congress should be in a uproar. Nope they just let him go wanting us to elect them so they can carry on as before.

Impeach.

24. I expected Hillary to lose Louisiana by a larger percentage, otherwise
Edited on Sun Feb-10-08 09:34 AM by Tom Rinaldo
I expected everything that happened last night. One way that Obama's fund raising advantage for January played out was it enabled him to pay for more boots on the ground to help organize turn out in caucus states. I also have another thread up about the special dynamics that seem to effect caucus states.

Having said that I admit that Obama had a great night and that he has run a very successful campaign. While I expected last night to play out like it did, certainly last summer I did not expect this nominating contest to play out the way that it has. And like you I will throw my full support behind whoever wins the Democratic Nomination.

Hillary's strength this year has shown up in large primary contests. Ohio is huge for her, and if anyone gets bragging rights for doing well in a solid Red State whoever wins Texas has a strong claim on that. Same for the winner of PA in regards to key potential swing states that we could lose. There is still a lot ahead of us.
