Rasmussen daily graph for 2/10/08 - Clinton up 1 (49), Obama down 1 (41)
On the Republican side, Rasmussen had ceased sampling, saying it was all over anyway. Now they're showing numbers for McCain vs. Huckabee again.

These graphs are all contained on one Web page at http://www.dvorkin.com/rastrack.html

Gallup now has a daily tracking poll graph: http://www.gallup.com/poll/104107/Gallup-Daily-Tracking-Election-2008.aspx

(Pretend that the 10 and 20 lines are actually 0. Does anyone know how to make Excel label different parts of the axis differently?)

17. In '06I learned about Rass's National polls compared to his State polls
His 2006 Congressional polls were fairly good, IIRC Rass was one seat off, in predicting the senate for '06.

11. They mean nothing except that the Obama people are poised to
argue that the American voters should choose the nominee, not the super delegates (unless Obama gets more), not the delegates awarded by congressional district (unless Obama gets more).

Some of them are pointing to the number of states as an indicator of strength (after they used their calculators to figure out that Obama had more.)

Like their leader, they change their stance on this issue as needed.

They are always quoting the national numbers to highlight his SURGE. If he somehow manages to cross the line and be on top, I can assure you your threads will be at the top of greatest threads.

Disclosure--I support Hillary but I enjoy your threads immensely.

12. Yup, 3-4 thousand votes wins the day, and they argue
that number of states is more indicative of his strength than congressional districts.

Let the American people decide, all 15 or 20 thou that voted in the caucuses.

8. These odd national polls are the last thing Shrillbots have to hang onto.
They literally poll a bunch of people from NY and CA and mean absolutely nothing.

13. Actually it shows that Obama has stubbed a toe and maxed out.
There are only so many Repukes who can do the crossover dance.

15. Actually, it shows no change at all.
One point is within the margin of error, making it the same as zero points. Furthermore, national polls do not matter in state-by-state elections. It doesn't matter than 49 percent of Democrats like Clinton better today, for example, because she will still probably lose all 3 contests on Tuesday.

16. Not only that, the next primaries coming up don't allow crossovers.
I think all of those "independents" in LA were in fact republicans trying to cross over.
