Don't look now but Hillary looks to be re-establishing a comfortable national lead
http://www.rasmussenreports.com

In the race for the Democratic Presidential Nomination, Senator Hillary Clinton currently earns 49% of the vote while Barack Obama attracts 41% of Likely Democratic Primary Voters (see recent daily numbers). While Clinton leads in the national tracking poll, Rasmussen Markets data now gives Obama a 65.0% chance of winning the nomination. Expectations for Clinton are at 35.0%. Obama won solid victories yesterday in Louisiana’s Primary and caucuses in Washington and Nebraska. The Senator from Illinois also has huge leads in Virginia and Maryland’s upcoming primaries. In both states, he is essentially even with Clinton among white voters and holds an overwhelming advantage among African-American voters.

Hillary seems to be getting a huge super Tuesday bounce based on the perception that she won it. Obama is faltering a bit it appears.

2. It means nothing...
If Hillary cant win any states for the next 3 weeks, keeps losing momentum, and losing the delegates race.

3. Obama is definitely faltering, as your poll shows.
This line is especially damning:

While Clinton leads in the national tracking poll, Rasmussen Markets data now gives Obama a 65.0% chance of winning the nomination. Expectations for Clinton are at 35.0%.

Maybe that's because national polls are polling states that have already voted? :-)

9. Oh I completely agree
She's likely to lose the Potomac primary big and with last night's combined with that, things should tighten up a bit again.

But that's okay - we're fine being the underdogs :)

11. Do people say they like her and then just not show up?
I'm having a hard time believing that the she's really so popular when she keeps getting trounced when the stakes are on the line.

26. She has been soundly defeated in non-caucus competitions as well.

Either her national support numbers are bogus, or everyone in OH, TX, and PA must be planning to support her.

12. Yeah, Obama's faltering was apparent last night.
I mean, he only swept all three states by huge double digit wins. He's toast. :eyes:

13. "Likely Democratic Primary Voters"?
Is that just for primaries that haven't been held yet, or all of them? If it's the former, it doesn't seem to line up with the numbers out of Potomac; if it's the latter, who cares?

14. I see she now talks about the U.S. as the "CAN-DO" country...
Obviously borrowing from Obama's YES, WE CAN. (CNN is covering a VA speech by her now.)

15. From the same article: Obama beats McCain, Clinton loses
"The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Sunday shows John McCain (R) leading Hillary Clinton (D) 46% to 43%. Barack Obama (D) leads McCain 44% to 41%. In both match-ups, McCain leads both Democrat by double digits among men and trails by double digits among women. McCain leads among older voters while the Democrats do better with voters under 50."

This is the only stat that matters to me.

25. I love the disembodied head
I need to get myself one of those things. I might hide it in my mother's kitchen cabinet and wait around for the fireworks. Or better yet, take off and let my father take the blame.

19. Hillary has actually always led in national polls...
What matters is who turns out to vote, in each individual state or territory.
