The Clinton campaign is in their last throes
Firing their manager, loaning themselves money...sounds like rearranging deck chairs on the Titanic.

I think if Maine goes for Obama tonight, we may be witnessing the tipping point that we've all expected. Howard Dean may get his wish that this thing be wrapped up by March.

No, really ... I wouldn't speculate. This is such a bizarre primary season, who knows how it will shake out in the end. I'm just hoping Hillary doesn't pull some weird crap with Mich. and Fla.

7. The Hillary people will have to change their slogan
from "All fired up for the lady" to "All fired by the lady" before this is done.

They're still far behind the Obama slogan machine, though.

Maybe it's time for me to reassess...

If this primary season has taught me anything it is that ideology or party identification does not provide immunization from being a jerk...

16. hardly unprecedented...
WASHINGTON (AP) — Democratic hopeful John Kerry has loaned his campaign $850,000 and will mortgage his Boston home to come up with more campaign cash, marking the first time a candidate has tapped his personal fortune in the 2004 presidential race.

http://www.usatoday.com/news/politicselections/nation/2003-12-18-finance-kerry-campaign_x.htm

John Kerry's communications director has resigned over differences in the direction of the Democrat's presidential campaign.

Chris Lehane's departure comes amid speculation of a wider shake-up in the Kerry campaign, which has been torn by internal fights and a lack of public support from the candidate.

Kerry did it before the votes were in. Clinton is doing it after the votes have been counted.

39. The difference in timing makes this very different
Kerry loaned his campaign money before Iowa because he was convinced he could win Iowa and that would give him the air to go on. In December he was getting no press - other than questions on when he would drop out - and no money. He did win Iowa and NH .... then kept winning.

HRC had the party and media support since 2004. It was thought that with the Clinton's machine's power and fund raising ability no one else had a chance. I agree that she shouldn't be counted out, but this was not a good sign. What was a better sign was that they did raise a huge amount of money once she disclosed it.

37. No: she's just showing she's changing things up for the final push
It's a confidence booster to show she's flexible and is responding to the current needs as the race changes. The campaign manager is staying on as a senior adviser. This is to show she means business, is addressing issues on the ground. I see it as a strategy for the end game.

Will it work? I don't know. But I don't see anything unusual about it.

41. It bears repeating!
It bears repeating that the Clintons are about to go nuclear on Obama in a way that would make Lee Attwater and Karl Rove recoil in horror. They will never surrender!

Remember this please Obama supporters. We are about to endure a Clinton firestorm against Obama the likes of which this nation has never seen.
