A few years ago an attorney friend of mine got married. She was a black woman and I kept kidding her about how much I was looking forward to the wedding. I thought it was gonna be in a black church and have a lot of really ass kicking gospel music like James Brown in the Blues Brothers. Well as it turned out she was a member of the otherwise lily white Episcopal church and all the music they played at the wedding was stuff like the Carpenters would play. Even at the reception. I was so disappointed. When I said something to her later she told me not to assume because well you know the rest of it.
