A Meeting With Edwards and a Canceled Event
A Meeting With Edwards and a Canceled Event
By Anne E. Kornblut

<snip>

DULLES, Va. -- Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton flew to North Carolina on Thursday to meet with former Sen. John Edwards, a Clinton official said Sunday, part of a lobbying campaign expected by both Democratic candidates. Details of the meeting were spare. But a Clinton official said the private session took place despite Edwards' decision not to endorse either her or Sen. Barack Obama before the Super Tuesday races.

Due to high winds, however, the Clinton campaign was unable to fly to Roanoke on Sunday because her campaign plane was not allowed to take off. She was scheduled to appear at a school in the southwestern part of the state at 5 pm. Instead, her motorcade was stopped on the runway at Dulles before she got onboard. Aides retrieved the catering for Clinton and the press corps and she planned to return briefly to Washington before heading to a stop in Bowie at night.

1. By "Super Tuesday races" does the author actually mean 2/12 - this upcoming Tuesday?
I clicked on your link to double-check that the article really was from today - and it is...

2. I think they're saying: Candidates were hoping for an endorsement before THE Super Tues, but it
didn't come. Even so, the endorsement is so important, she'd like to have it now even if its too late for Feb 5th. Better late than never thing.

That's my take.

3. Maybe that's it. I am kind of hoping that Edwards holds off until
after this next Tuesday. I think the longer he waits the more likely he will endorse Obama. I just ran across this thread that suggests that the Edwards camp sees a win coming for Obama:

Joe Trippi, former Edwards advisor: "It's hard to see a win for Clinton into March ..."
