I'm not gonna gloat, but Hillary supporters were unrelenting on DU for a whole year prior to Iowa
The Clintonistas were on this site for a year bashing the other candidates and propping up every single poll that showed her 20 pts. ahead of Obama. They were unrelenting on here and we had to put up with a lot of their shit. The funny thing is that those posters haven't been seen on here since.

This is a note to those who say Obama supporters shouldn't gloat...well, if the Clintonistas didn't make our lives miserable on DU, no one would be gloating! They all but guaranteed that Hillary would pummel Obama before Iowa. What's good for the goose, is good for the gander. I'm not gonna gloat, but the Clinton folks deserve to eat crow on a silver platter.

5. I don't mean to be rude....
is usually the opening salvo in a rude post.

The same holds here.

I don't have a dog in this particular hunt as I'm all for getting a Democrat in office.

This sort of thread doesn't help anyone.

that's inevitable when someone says, "Now I don't want you to take this the wrong way ..." You know something fairly bad is coming!

7. The best way is not to gloat
Let's just say it's a form of psych ops to not gloat. We know the news.

As you pointed out, it was relentless dealing with people talking about polls 6 months away from the first votes. I hope people learn about how useless polls are so far out of when the primaries begin next time.

11. Hillary supporters weren't unrelenting
I don't remember there even being any Hillary supporters. For months the Act Blue donation page showed zero donations to Hillary. But, since Hillary haters like to believe they were victimized, and one is now gloating, I'll switch roles with you.

"Barack Obama is being shoved down our throats. We are told he's inevitable and we are all supposed to fall in line and march lockstep. What about our free speech rights? What about our freedom? I don't like being forced to support someone who represents the powers behind the status quo."

Remember that stupid shit?

15. Then you obviously weren't listening. Try the last 6 months of 2007, for starters.
Hell, I posted an article questioning Hillary's judgement on the war way back in March of last year and got absolutely swarmed by Hillary supporters.

21. Not proof but an indicator of how many DU supporters a
candidate had or has. Hillary still has less support than Mike Gravel got. She has less than Gore too and he's not even running:

13. Gloating...
Your feelings are understandable, but that still doesn't justify gloating. You only make yourself look bad.

14. Agreed in full.
Look, I've been on DU through both primary seasons, and to be completely honest, the trash talking and nastiness coming out of the Clinton supporters has been worse than any other group of supporters here, by far. I thought the Deanie-boppers of 2004 were obnoxious, with their attitude of "If you're not with us, you're a Republican," but this is orders of magnitude worse. Nothing like this has ever come out of supporters of Kerry, Edwards, Clark, Biden, Richardson, Kucinich, or any other candidate in the last two elections.

Yes, some Obama supporters have trash-talked too. I've gotten a bit rude myself at times, when I felt that only rudeness would suffice as a reply. And some people have taken it over the bounds of appropriate behavior, even for an argumentative board like this one, into the realm of baiting and unwarranted attacks.

But compare all the shit that's been thrown against the Obama supporters by the Clinton people--cultists, sexists, idiots, children, etcetera--combined with what I can only describe as a deliberate effort to demoralize and denigrate any and all Obama supporters on DU, and I can only laugh when they try to claim that it's the Obama supporters that started it. I don't support gloating either, but I can tell you this; if the Hillary people feel put upon, I'm not the least bit sorry about it. Particularly since their rude, arrogant, condescending attitudes, and the hubris of the Clinton campaign, helped bring down her big machine.

But there was that annoying clique who managed to use the word "netroots" twice in every sentence.

get home..I'm gonna give you a heart for it..that's how much it resonates. I don't believe in "gloating" but I'm happy just to see Obama winning in spite of the all the hilarys' smearnjeer, demoralizing lock step brigrade.

I wasn't even an Obama suppporter but I spent time defending him on DU against the hilarys and damn if I didn't start liking what I saw in him!

20. Good points
It's ridiculous to suggest that if one group gets beaten down for a long time, to the point where that group inevitably forms hate and anger for those making the attacks, that the beaten-down group's hate is somehow equally as "bad" as the attackers' hate. It's not.

27. Yes, but Obama supporters were nauseating after Iowa and Clinton supporters weren't after NH
Ickiness has been a well shared trait, with triumphalism from Clintonville and sanctimoniousness from Obamaworld. The night of Iowa was just plain revolting.

Remember, though, that many on both sides have been embarrassed by their allies and have said so, so nobody really has bragging rights for decency or a justification for indulgent victimhood.

There's plenty more to come.
